Likes

The college Faculties are very helpful and they promote students in their learning
The library in the college provide sufficient books for the students
The college activities are very interesting and helps students to express their ideas and thoughts

Dislikes

No proper drinking water facilities for students
No good trainings or seminars for the students
The computer science department is not so efficient

Course Curriculum Overview

Actually this computer science branch provides students to acquire high rate of job opportunities after their course as compared to other courses. But due to the curriculum pressure in the colleges the students are only concentrating in the syllabus and they are not acquiring any sufficient skill. So my suggestion is to improve the teaching plans and thus the students will be able to improve their quality of learning without studying only for attaining marks and CGPA.

Class Size: 67Course Fees: INR 41230 per year

Placement Experience

The college placements are not so good as compared to any other colleges like Sree chitira Thirunal college of engineering trivandrum or College of Engineering Trivandrum. No good companies are approaching the college because the college is not well known.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college fees is 41,000 including the PTA fund and other academic fees for 1 year. This fee structure is applicable for only Merit students. I have applied for EK Nayanar Scholarship Which is 15,000 per year.

Campus Life

The college doesn't have enough clubs as expected. We some students planned to start a new chess club but the college principal and faculties were not interested in that. The overall sports activities in the college are ok.

Admission

The Admission Process need to improved because for general category student the cut off marks are high but the other backward classes even though they are economically stable they are getting reservation with low ranks in the college.

Faculty

The computer science department is effective. The faculty member is so good in their teaching. They are very fast and we able to understand the concepts properly.

OUR COLLEGE LIFE

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

If you want to be in a controlled environment, focus on academics, make use of some good placement opportunities, and get somewhere career-wise I would be suggesting Amrita University.
