- Faculty members in KIIT are extremely invested in the student's overall well being and take care to mentor them individually.
- The senior junior relationship in KIIT is very healthy and the seniors are extremely helpful.
- The infrastructure is extremely well built and advanced.
Dislikes
- The in-time of girl's vs hostel is considerably less than boy's hostel.
- The campus size is extremely huge and it is very hectic to travel from one campus to another for classes.
- There are no stationary stores available in campus, all convenience stores are located outside campus despite the campus size being so huge.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is at par with most other renowned colleges. KIIT provides material and book written by international authors. The curriculum is changed and updated every year to match the ongoing trends in IT sector. However, there are a lot of very good Indian authors that KIIT refuses to teach which should be included in the curriculum. Examinations in KIIT are held every 2 months. In every odd semester, mid sem exams are held within the first 2 months and end sem after the next 2 months. Even semesters follow the same trend usually. The difficultly of the exams are moderate.
Placement Experience
The placement condition of KIIT is average. Mostly students from ECSE and CSE get maximum placement. Median placement is 10 lakhs p.a. with highest placement of 63lakhs bagged by a CSE student. All students become eligible for placement from the start of 7th semester. Maximum offers are given by High Radius and TCS with average of 6-7Lakhs p.a. The overall batch size in KIIT is extremely huge (6000 students in CSE alone) so mostly students bag 10-12LPA packages. However, due to the batch size a lot of students are asked to not appear for 2nd or 3rd round of interview since a lot of students remain unplaced. Around 75% students were placed in the batch of 2024.
Fees and Financial Aid
FEES: (for 4 yrs BTech CSE only) Tuiton : Rs. 1,92,000 Hostel : Rs. 22,500 - Rs. 70,000 (depends on hostel type) Mess Fees : Rs. 22,500 Scholarships: (for BTech) Various types of scholarships are provided : 1. Campus Life
The campus life in KIIT is pretty good but it depends on the type of company you have. Overall sometiemes it gets pretty boring. That's why a lot of students join clubs. KIIT has a variety of student run clubs and once youre in 2nd year or above, you can start your own club too. A huge variety of tech clubs are present in KIIT, some of which receive sponsorship from companies like Microsoft and DRDO. Apart from tech clubs, fashion (KZARSHIAN), music, social service, dance (DOU) and a lot of other societies are present. KIIT supports clubs a lot and provides funding too, so you will never really be bored with clubs, they'll always keep you engaged.
Hostel Facilities
There are 6 types of hostel : Non - AC two bedded and three bedded. AC two bedded and three bedded. AC two bedded and three bedded premium. Premium hostels have an attached washroom. Other hostels has a common washroom. In first year they keep the boys in KP-7 hostel ( for those who opt Non AC 3 bedded or AC 3 bedded). The room condition is good but the hostel food is not the best. The first few weeks feel like jail. The intime is 6pm. Eventually for guys, the in-time increases to 7pm in first year. For girls the intime in the start is 6pm and increases to 6:30pm. Premium hostel room are pretty good and clean with window AC (except QC08 which has split AC). The intime for girls is extremely less according to me and till 3rd year is remains 7pm whereas for guys it becomes 9-10pm. Except for the intime and wardens of girls hostels interefering in personal life, the hostels are pretty good.
Admission
For admission in KIIT BTech, the KIITEE exam has to be given which is a private exam for admission into kiit. 75% in board exams is not really required. I've met a lot of people here with percentage lower than 75% in board exams. For admission in CSE about 80 percentile is needed in KIITEE exam but kids get in through management quota too. The KIITEE exam is of overall moderate difficulty and most questions come from JEE important topics. To apply for the KIITEE exam you can directly search KIITEE registration on google and directly register from the first link. Once the rank cards are released, a mail with payment link for admission is sent where Rs. 70,000 has to be payed as admission fees. For 70,000 we pay, we get laptops. For 2023 admission batch, we got Lenovo Thinkbook.
Faculty
KIIT always makes sure to employ highly qualified faculty. Most professors are IIT or NIT Graduates. The professor to student ratio is 1:72 which is alright considering the fact that in a 60min class, most students get their doubts cleared.
