- Sports facilities: sports facilities like badminton, TT , basketball, cricket , footbaal , squash , hockey and many more are provided by the insitutue
- Research facilities: Labs and workshops have all the facilities available to do research
- Fests : Different kinds of fest like that of sports, cultural and tech are conducted at regular interval to keep students busy
Dislikes
- Location : IIT KGP is located in a very remote location which is difficult to reach from different places in Infia
- Mess food: Food provided is not of good quality and variety is also very less
- Hostel : Rooms of hostels are not very much maintained and many paper are cramped in it
Course Curriculum Overview
Course structure for chemical engineering is very well designed.It prepares us very well for industrial market and real world applications.Coure curriculum can be improved by providing more lab classes . Frequency of exams is perfect
Internships Opportunities
For Btech students it is mandatory to do 2 month internship at any industry or company.There also a provision to do a a semester at any company to gain industrial knowldege . Comapnis like goldman sach, Google microsoft provide intership .
Placement Experience
Campus placements are very good in our college and highes placement of last year was 4Cr + . Almost 90% students get the placement and median package for all branches are 15 lpa while for my branch is 18blpa. Companies like google , Microsoft, amazon visit to induct students .Goldman Sachs and McKinsey also visit the college each year
Fees and Financial Aid
Year wise fee is 3,10,000 including tution ,hostel and mess charges for general category students .Fee for OBC NCL and EWS students is 50 % of general category And for SC ST and PWD candidate is 20% of general category.There is merit cum scholarship for students
Campus Life
Annual cultural fest is Spring fest .It is conducted in February of each month while ksitij is the annual tech fest .Shaurya is annual sports fest .Fests are organised by student welfare group and they make the atomsphere very lively There is a central library and hall Library.Central Library has all the books of almost all the topics while hall library is for only studing Classrooms have all the modern facilities like projectors and speakers .Each seat has individual charging port Sports facilities of badminton TT basketball cricket footbaal squash hockey and many more are provided in the campus There are multiple student run societies and clubs that deals with different topics like robotics, coding, cunsultancy etc
Hostel Facilities
Hostels provided have spacious rooms but are poorly maintained .It has facilities like library music room gym tt table . Roomsfor first year students are triple sharing and have basic facilities like fan and bed .There individual lan port for each student and wifi service is also provided Mess food is not up to the mark and variety is also very less There are canteen which provide tasty food but they are costly . Dominoes and cafe coffee day are also there Hostel and mess registration was very easy and it is affordable also
Admission
I applied for IIT BOMBAY IIT DELHI IIT KANPUR but was unable to get admission because my marks in JEE ADV we re not enough to get my preferred branch there .I was getting braches like civil , metallurgy , physics, chemistry etc in those colleges
Faculty
Faculty students raitio is 1:12 in chemical engineering There are two exams in one semester. One is mid sem exam and other is end sem exam .Mid sem exam has 30% weightaywhile end sem ha 50 % weightage . Assignments, quiz , viva , attendance contribute 20% marks Faculty provide have very deep knowledge and they try their best to clear all doubts
