Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is very good and practical knowledge is provide in labs so that we can implement our knowledge in solving problems. As I was from IT there are 2 major subject which are not in our curriculum ( TOC and Comiler Design), instead of these we have Software Engineering Practices and Information System.

Students become eligible for placements from 7th semester. 100 to 200 companies come here every year and 95 to 99 % students get placed every year. highest Package : 40 lpa Average Package : 6-7 lpa I wanted to go for hisgher studies so i didn;t applied for campus placement

Campus Life

le festus is the 3 days fest in juit which is my favourite.there are 7 to 8 clubs and we get to learn many things from these . Different Events use to held afte1.5 or 2 months . Library is so good and big and we can find all the books there. Library staff is also very helpfull and friendly. PC's and projectors are available in every classroom . All the sports are there . eg.Basketball, football, badminton, table tennis, etc. There are many social groups and clubs where students can interact with each other and can make bonds between them.

Admission

I applied in LPU but I didn't went there as I liked to stay in Himachal Pradesh due to Himachal's weather. I didn't get any rejection but I only wanted to enjoy Himachal's pleasant weather. we can take admission in juit on the basis of 12th and JEE mains too. When I took admission there was a criteria that we should have more than 70% in 12th ,subject included only English ,Maths, Physics and chemistry, There is No Entrance exam of juit.

Faculty

Many of the faculties are so good and helful and help in various ways they can. Some Faculties are also helping in preparation of competitive exams . They provide a regular mentorship. All the faculties have a good knowledge and experience.

Placement Experience:

At NIT Hamirpur, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards, and the placement scenario has been quite encouraging in recent years. A wide range of companies such as Infosys, Wipro, L\&T, Capgemini, Tata Projects, and several core as well as IT firms visit the campus every year. The highest placement touched an impressive 2.05 crore offered to a mechanical engineering student, while the overall average package stands at around 10.5 LPA, which is a strong figure compared to many other NITs. The placement percentage remains high, with a majority of students securing offers, especially in branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, though core branches like civil and mechanical also receive good opportunities. The profiles offered include roles in software development, consulting, design, project engineering, and research. After completing my degree, I plan to take advantage of these placement opportunities to gain solid industry experience and later decide whether to pursue higher studies or competitive exams for broader career growth.

I applied for Chitkara, Cu, Du, HPU, SRM etc and the main reason I choose this college is because of the studies, placement and location. The study culuter in this unversity is very good as compared to other university . The student Teacher ratio not very large as compared to the other university which give every students a chance to stand out and get better results . I got acceptance from cu , du and 2 or 3 other colleges. Yes i also got rejections from colleges like SRM , VIT for not scoring a good percentile in jee and the fees and cost of living there i svery high as compare to JUIT . The admission process is very easy students can apply on the basis of their boards marks or on the basis of their JEE exams as well . After that students can attend the counselling sessions where they can vbisit the college get to know about the college . the admission staff is very helpful and they guide the students and family step by step throught out the whole process....Read More

JUIT- beautiful place

I applied in thapar, jiit, juit and Manipal. I got admission in all of them but I chose juit. I didn't go to jiit because my parents thought that environment of juit would be better. Also they were a bit hesitant to me living in Delhi for my graduation as people are very young during graduation. Didn't choose manipal as juit was better in every aspect other than placements.
