Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum wasn't really what influenced men in to taking the course. I wanted to complete my computer science degree either way. The course in general is very boring and not innovative. I think the curriculum can be improved in the sense of adding more relevant subjects like ai and ml, something that resonates with the current trend of skills required. Th exams are twice every semester. The difficulty ranges usually. It is mostly moderate to difficult.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

There were evry few summer internship opportunities given. Some of them being from companies like Providence, PayPal, dell , goldman Sachs etc. The stipend usually ranged from 20-50k. The roles offered were nostly software developer or data analyst roles.

Placement Experience

3

The placements have been average for the 2025 batch currently. It was worse for 2024 batch. The avg package was probably 6 lakh and 90% pf the studenrs have been placed till now. Highest package was 54 lakhs. Maine sde profiles were offered to ug batch.

Fees and Financial Aid

College charges annually 350000 as of now for me as tuition fees. 1.75 lakh per semester. Rest it charges registration fee for each endsem exams that happen once every semester. There is no concession on the basis of categories. Scholarship might be provided to people who perform well in the entrance exams and that exempts them from tuition fees almost 100%.

Campus Life

3.5

There is fest that happens obce a year. Both technical and culutral fest takes place together. It is fun and last for 4-5 days. They invite famous singers and artisa to perform on cultural nights. Our college has very good facilities for sports, any kind of sports. 11 of the students from our college went to Olympics this year. There are a number of societies present ranging from dance and singing to even car racing and making pf cars. The societies are very inclusive and interesting.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

The fascilities provided varies on the basis of room you are paying for. You can have an ac room with attached bathroom given for more money or have a non ac room with shared bathroom. The meals are very bad here in most of the hostels. The menu looks very attractive but the food sucks. Its also very unhygienic a lot of the times and has resulted in students being sick. The non ac rooms in the hostel are very affordable in comparison to the ac ones. But the weather here makes it difficult to live in non ac rooms. The mess charges around 30k for the meal. The locality is good and there are many PGs and rooms near the college that can be rented. The prices of tye rooms depend on the distance from the college.

Admission

I got into SRM University in Chennai and got confirmed admission there. It was the first college i got admission in where I got my desired computer science stream. However I decided to leave it for KIIT as it was in a more desired location . I could not perform as desired due to lack of preparation for the exam as my interest was initially more towards pure science and not engineering and then I didn't get enough time to shift focus. Rest of the admission procees was very smooth and I received a mail providing me my counseling stream. Then i had to deposit 75000Rs, as my first deposit.

Faculty

2

There are so many students in the college and so the student to professor ratio kinda sucks. It must be about 68:1. They provide one mentor to a group of student and every problem faced by the student is taken care of by the mentor. The exams are conducted twice each semester. The exams are moderate to high in difficulty usually. The faculty doesnt really prepare us for the exams and sometimes its very difficult.

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
