Likes
- The campus is very beautiful and charming because smoking drinking and ragging is prohibited. Nature friendly campus and eco-friendly hostel area with full of greeneries. Garden libraries and here for every campus and 24 hours library access.
- If I talk about academics, then I must have to say that professors are so helpful and they have too much knowledge and they are well trained also. Mostly ex-IITians are here in the faculties. We can publish papers, do projects under their guidance.
- There are some societies in KIIT for students, have some Tech societies and some non-tech/ cultural societies also. Gym, Swimming pool, and some games like basket ball, cricket, football are easily accessible. (gym and swimming are paid).
Dislikes
- Taste of foods in hostels are not good overall! Obviously it's full of nutrition but the taste is not good, needed improvement.
- fees are so high, I don't think it's relevant and worthy!
- Placement scenario is quite tough because the number of students are too much in a single branch (CSE) so as per past year records I can say the placement percentage is not good comapare to 2019.
Course Curriculum Overview
You will get realtime usecase in labs and Teachers will help you to understand it. The quality of education the faculties serve that intrigged me alot to get satisfied that I chose right course. Our college provides internship opportunities and placement support till you will not get placed! Seniors and societies are so helpful to guide a new freshers. Midsem of 20 marks with the time of 1 hr 30 min and endsem of 50 marks with the time of 3 hours!
Internships Opportunities
There are two companies have partnership with our college. 1. Highradius: It provides 3 types of internship cum PPO opportunities to all 3rd year students. Technical (SDE), Consultant and Businesstrack (Sales and marketing). 2. CME group: It provides training to the eligible students and giver stipend to them and as per the performance it hire students. Others companies also visit campus to take interns from 3rd and 4th year.
Placement Experience
Every year almost 80 to 85% students get placed through on-campus. Others do highers studies or get placed through off-campus that's why this college claims 100% placement. From 3rd year students become eligible for the campus placement (internship). Last year VOLVO and microsoft came but didn't give any offers. Highest package offered till now is 64 lakhs and average is 7 lakh approx. 80% get placed till the end.
Fees and Financial Aid
I am from 2021 B.tech batch fees I pay that is mentioned below: Admission fees: 75000 (Laptop included) Tuition fees: 175000 per semester hostel fees: 28000 per semester mess fees: 22500 per semester exam fees: 1000 per semester But now the fees has been increased for 2024 admission batch. Admission fees: 200000 per semester rest of the part remains same. There is no SC/ST reservation or financial aid basis on these categories.
Campus Life
Overall experience of college life is 8.5 out of 10. You will be able to build up more connections here and that is helpful for your growth. We get access of some research papers provider's website and access many books related to our domain and course. smart boards are there in all the classrooms. Sports and cultural activities are easily accessible for all through KSAC society. KIIT celebrates some pujas like Saraswati puja, Ganesh puja, Biswakarma puja and many occasions.
Hostel Facilities
If you choose non ac rooms then you will get 2 fans in a single room. Enough spaces are there in every room. 4 times chicken are served in the mess in a week and the quality is good but taste is not that much good because it's made by Odiya chef so some different taste. At the time of admission students will get the consent form for hostel, they have to choose which type of hostel they want to take. Hostel is good and healthy for students.
Admission
The distance of college from my home is not more. If I talk about the best private college of Odisha, then I must have to say KIIT is holding the 1st rank an the NIRF ranking was also impressive then as like of now. Wherever the placement percentage of other colleges like Techno India, SOA, IEM is arount 70 max to max, here in KIIT it's around nearly 90%. Admission process: By the two ways students can take admission in this college. One of them through KIITEE entrance exam, coordinated by KIIT and another is basis on marks in national exams (JEE main, NEET and all varies course to course). The cutoff for getting CSE branch is 70 percentile. After clearing KIITEE exam students have to pay admission fees of 75000 (new laptop included). I didnot get rejection from another colleges but comparing other colleges with KIIT I chose KIIT because my two cousins were also KIITians and they do job now.
Faculty
As the number of students are increasing day by day so the ratio of faculty and students arounf 1:30. In every sem students have to appear for two exams, one is mid sem and another is endsem. Midsem of 20 marks and endsem of 50 marks rest 30 marks are internal marks. But teachers are very helpful if students reach out to them with any doubt they solve it as soon as possible. Anirban Bhattacharya and Sudhanshu Tripathy are rude in nature and don't give more marks! But there are some best faculties also like Amulya Ratna Swain, Sampriti Soor, Naliniprava Behera, they are so helpful and solve every doubts related to their subjects. One best think is "NO BACKLOG" that means if a student fails to pass then have to appear again in makeup-exam and in score card BACKLOG word will not be mentioned anymore! As it's an autonomous University so KIIT itself set question papers and faculties check all copies.
