Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum is not very outdated as compare to othe engineering colleges. It is still relevent in real world. In you course curriculum there are too many subject which directly related to your real company work . I just want to mention a 4 credit course which is Iron making which really contains all the application and phenomenon which are onging in the industry level. so the curriculum is still relevant not too much outdated but it still need to improve . I was quiet interested in the materials and their various indepth explanation so i chosen this course and i found worth it. In our college their is main two exams in a semester named end terms and mid terms , although a semester contains of 4-5 months so mid terms happens almost 2 months after the starting of the semester and end terms happens in the last months . generally for the winter semester it happens in the dec and for the spring sem it happens in the end of july.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

internship opportunities you will get in the various company like google micrsoft wipro for the it sector students and those students who are in core branch you will get oppotunities in TATA steel ONGC and indian oil as well.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placements rate of this college is quite good it basically depends on your branch if your branch is cse then you will get more companies offer other than any branch in my branch MME placement rate is almost 80 %.

Fees and Financial Aid

Total fees per semester as of latest acedmic year 2024-25 For general and OBC category whose family income is above 5 lac is "73000" , whose family income is between 1lac to 5 lac and belongs to these categories is "31333" and those whose family income below than 1lac is "10500" Those who belongs to SC/ST/PwD their per semester fees is "10500" (Hostel excluded for all) Those who want to join hostel and mess facility they have to pay 8000 per semester for hostel and 20000 for mess per semester. lets take a example , if you are a OBC student and your family income is less than 1lac then how much money you have to pay per semester if you avail hostel and mess facility as well , then you have to pay (10500+8000+20000) 38500 per semester and 77000 per year. Now coming to the scholarships part , for your kind information i want to just say that college doesn't provide any scholarships but you can apply for scholarship like NSP , ONGC , FFE and many others .

Campus Life

3.5

truly speaking the club are active too much and you know kashmir is the coldest place of india so that in night it is very hard to stay out of the campus . girls have to many resistriction for going out of the of the campus due to outside condition

Hostel Facilities

3.5

If you are living in hostel then in your 1 to 3rd year you have to share it with your batchmate 4-5 . In your room you will get a personal bed a table a chair and almirah for you clothes , although the meal quality is average but on some occassion it is delicious and sometimes it is worse. you will easily get hostel facility on the 1st day of campus and it is quiet affordable for almost everyone.

Admission

first of all talking about the admission process for the NIT Srinagar . So you have to give the JEE mains exam if your percentile is good enough to get the NIT then you get the college .Josaa is the councling process for this college after that CSAB will also start for 2 rouds then you get the college.

Faculty

3.5

Now 1st of all we comes on the facility , I just say it is almost good because some of them are exceptionally good and some of them are very poor . I belongs to MME department where facilities like Atiq ur Rehman, Dr. Irfan Wani, Prvan katiyar and Aravi muzzafar are good but other faculity are not upto the mark as per requirement. Some other faculty are also good whose names i doesn't mention here. Now coming to the exam systems , so total of 100 marks exam is carried out in which mid terms contains 26 marks , end terms contains 50 marks and internal is of 24 marks. If you want to just pass the exam you only need 40 marks out of 100 . If you are thinking it is easy to score in internal exam then i just clarify you that it is most difficult to get atleast 15 out of 24 .So be carefull for you internals. Course structure is designed in that manner if you want to prepare for Gate exams then it is very helpful for you.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is quiet relevant it covers all the important subjects and topics.I chose the Ece branch as the demand of semiconductors is rising in the future. The curriculum perpares us well for real world applications. The course teaches us a lot of outdated concepts but it misses out to teach about what is happening in the world right now. So the course can involve a lot of topics that are in trend.

Placement Experience:

Placemets start right from your 7th semester. Most comapnies that would come here would be like vedanta , ashok leyland etc etc who mainly do mass hiring, th no of offers are quite low as for durig my time most companies qul do diversity and hiring would only select girls and the girls were low in numbers as compared to the boys so each girl recieved atleast 2-3 offers while rarely a boy would even rev=cieve a single offer. The highest package was offered by Vedanta but it was 13 lpa in ct in hand it would be arond 5-6 lpa , the average package was also the same around 5-6 lakhs per annum. Percentage of students placed would be around 30 percent but they inflated the numbers heavily but showing only the students who were eleigible as boys were mostle ineligible. My plans are to look for masters somewhere abroad.
