Likes
- The college is located in the centre of Patiala city which makes it easily locatable and also near to all the markets which is really helpful for all the students to buy their necessities.
- Other than the college 's location, A market named Cos is also located within the campus to fulfill all the student needs.
- There is very much greenery within the campus and it really feels very much connected with nature.
Dislikes
- Not much , but hostellers are not allowed any four or two wheelers, so daily step count is usually very high which is actually good for one's health but also on the other hand , very tiring.
- Students are not allowed to enter their respective hostels after 8:30 pm which I personally think should be increased to 9 pm.
- The G block and E block are not air conditioned despite being their oldest study areas.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is actually very nicely engaged for the EEC including equal portions of electrical and computer engineering. The exams timing is same for all the branches and teachers ' support is actually very nice to all the students
Fees and Financial Aid
The whole year fees for BE ( EEC ) is 5,40,000 Rs.and for the first sem , an additional fee of 30,000 Rs. Is taken as admission fee and the fee is same for all categories either it be General or any reserved category such as SC , ST , OBC , etc. My other batchmates are pursuing BE ( COE ) and there yearly fee is 5,94,000 Rs . Scholarships are provided to the students whether the candidate is from Punjab or of outside Punjab on the basis of JEE MAIN Merit.
Campus Life
Thapar institute of engineering and technology, Patiala is really good in terms of fests and they are held every 2nd week approximately and they are really good to be honest. Major ones are Saturnalia and of virsa society too.
Admission
Thapar institute of engineering and technology,Patiala is really very good in the terms of academics as well as sports as compared to other colleges in Punjab as well as North India ( not including government colleges ) . It's NIRF ranking as of 2024 is 29th and it really does not justify it's worth . It should definitely be in top 20 same as of 2023. The admission is provided on the basis of JEE main and boards too.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is actually quite good and all the faculties are soft spoken and have a nice interaction with the students too. Exams are quite frequent in Thapar , MST for the freshers comes after just one month and EST in the month of December.
