Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum itself is designed in a way so as to teach the students to comprehensively be aware and get entwined with each paper, as there are 6 per semester. Specific aspects of the curriculum are huge and can only be described in detail when there is someone who chooses to delve into them, and as like the faculties, is subjective too. The curriculum does prepare you for real world applications as well as for any further academic pursuits in a very comprehensive manner so as the students take it as easy as possible. Exams are held every 6 months, internals and semester exams alike, with them being difficult from moderate to very high.

Internships Opportunities

5

Internship opportunities with college are mostly without stipend but with a great deal of exposure to the study, their work as well as their real life applications. It is mandatory for 10 internships throughout the course, i.e., 2 per year and most of them have to be sought by the students and a very few are offered by the college. Internship opportunities can be done in state run companies or firms, the courts ranging from District & Sessions Courts to the Supreme Court, corporate clients or chambers of Advocates.

Fees and Financial Aid

The detailed fee structure for 5 year Integrated BALLB (Hons.), was 35000 INR per year when I was studying, i.e., for the batch of 2019-2024. For the following year batches, it has been increased by 10000 INR, so the new fee structure would be 45000 INR for new admissions into the 5 year course. And it might increase in the coming years. So, for 5 years, as it was for me, the total would amount to 1,75,000 INR or as the fees stand now, that would amount to 2,25,000 INR. Moving over to LLM, the fee structure would be around 35000 INR year (subject to change). Other than these, the examination fees/semester form fillup fees are different for each semester itself.

Campus Life

3.5

There are many annual and other fests held in college, such as Lexellence (the annual function) of the college, 2-3 moot courts, 1-2 seminars, ranging from National to International level. The library contains all the requisite books as required for the study of law as well as arts. The computer room is equipped with computers and is provided with SCC online for further research and study purposes. The classes are equipped with projectors. Sports happen every year, with the Intra College and Inter College/University games taking precedence.

Admission

I applied to two other colleges, KIIT School of Law (KSOL) and Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT). For the former, owing to my circumstances and the time frame, it was too fast for me to get my admissions done, so I didn't go for it. For the latter, that being an engineering UG programme, I didn't choose that for my mind itself was fixed on pursuing a career in law. Every other colleges I applied into, I got in but I chose what I had to. Up until the previous year, the admission process of the college was through the college's own entrance test, for which some 1000-2000 apply with a merit list of 500-900 students out of which only 60 are admitted. But from this year, the admission process has been done alongside the SAMS, just like any for entrance to any other UG course under the Govt. Of Odisha.

Faculty

3

There are two types of faculties, permanent as well as temporary/visiting. Permanent faculty are less in number as compared to the visiting ones, yet both command the same level of caliber, with the permanent faculties edging it. As for the liking of the faculties, that is purely subjective. I might not have liked them all, but I did like most. There are a total of 10 semesters for the 5 Year Integrated Course, 2 semesters each year. The number of students failing can be said to be 1/5th of the total strength (approx) and they have the options of clearing the papers they failed in, by appearing for back paper examinations. The exam questions are moderate-hard and the invigilation as well as the checking of the paper is tough.

Well, I passed out in 2024 and till then some corporate houses such as Bajaj and Deloitte were the only major corporate houses which provided us placements. Also, firms like Khaitan & Co and others also started coming for placements. On and average 40-50k were the initial salaries that law students of our college were given.

Law firms of litigation or corporate law firms were among other who have joined hands with KIIT School of Law. It's an amazing college and placements too are good as generally freshers lawyers don't get what students of KIIT School of Law are paid from campus placements of KIIT School of Law. Thus our placements are next to NLUO in Orissa.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Specific curriculum aspects that influence the choice of a course include unique modules that align with your interests and career goals, a program's reputation, teaching and assessment methods, and opportunities like study abroad or internships. You should research the specific content, like whether a course is more theoretical or practical, and choose based on what best path. I took english hnrs because of english is my favourite subject... And about changes in english explanation is the best teaching part in this course .. so I want to change this part of my teacher that's all

The college has a seperate Placement Cell and the placement cell offers us placements. The students get eligible for placement after the completion of 4th year. There are many companies like Infotech limited, Riseon limited, Wipro limited, etc. they come for placements. The highest package is 55000/- per month that is received in our campus. In our campus 75% of students get admissions per batch. My interest is to continue persuing LLM in this institution after the completion of my BA LLB (H) course.
