Course Curriculum Overview

4

First year curriculum is very basic and it means to set base for your overall engineering degree. Second year onwards you get knowledge about your specific degree. In third year you also get to choose additional courses and subjects from other branches that helps you enhance your knowledge and provides you with abundance of exposure.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Companies such as Chubb, GE Healthcare, Novartis, Razorpay, BNY mellon, PWC and a lot more reputed companies provided many students with internships. the stipend generally ranged between 25k - 75k per month. These companies recruited on basis of resume and projects that you have done at a personal level. They check your technical knowledge and there are 2-3 interviews generally for each companies.

Placement Experience

3.5

Usually placement starts from the 6th semester but 5th semester onwards company start coming in to provide students with internship opportunities. the placement goes from 6th semester until the 8th semester. the average package is 8 lpa whereas the highest package goes around 52-60 lpa. 90-95% students are able to crack placements in KIIT. Big and known companies such as Deloitte, Accenture, Tata, GE Healthcare, Razorpay, HSBC, BNY Mellon, Novartis, Chubb come for placements and have given offer to students.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees is 1.75 lakh per semester. Scholarship is provided to the batch toppers each semester. The fee is also said to be increasing and it might end up becoming around 1.85 to 2 lakh per semester. The admission fees during our time was 50000. And we had to pay 80000 as one time payment additionally for laptop and books.

Campus Life

5

KIIT is no doubt on of the best colleges in India in terms of clubs, societies and providing with exposure. There are so many societies in the college and all of the societies come under certain department such as CSE, Electronics, Mechanical and all. NSS, Kiit Robotics Society, KIIT MUN, Enactus Kiit are some of the best societies to get enrolled in. best thing is that these societies are completely run by students and there is very little interference from the faculties.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostels are neat, rooms and washrooms are cleaned on daily basis. Different hostels have different leniency depending upon the wardens. Girls hostel which is called Queen's Castle are generally strict interms of in time, usually it is 7 pm for girls hostel. For boys hostel most of them allow students till 9 pm and some beyond that as well. In person attendance is taken on daoly basis in all the hostels. Food is good with variety of menu and menu keeps on changing every 3-4 months. But food quality degrades some times, on mass complaints and reporting there is quality check done for food as well. Girls hostel food is usually better than that of boys hostel

Admission

I applied to colleges such as Manipal University and Siksha O Anusandhan. I finally tok admission in KIIT because the overall exposure that KIIT provided is way better than most of the colleges in India. you get to feel the pressure and compete with the best minds over here. The admission process is either JEE or kiit has it's own exam anually called KIITEEE. Here you get CSE if you rank within 4000 and top 100 ranks are eligible for scholarship as well.

Faculty

4.5

There are faculties in abundance. And almost every faculty members are really good, and rich in knowledge. Tecahers like Samaresh Mishra, Amulya Ratna Swain, Sujoy Dutta, Jyotiprakash Mishra, Minakhi Rout are best people you can reachout to and for students who want to learn and gain knowledge can look up to them. There are two exams in a semester, mid sem and end sem, mid sem carries 20 marks and end sem carries 50 marks rest 30 marks is internal marks that includes your attendance, assignments, viva, tests and everything else. grading system is in alphabetic. Exams are fairly easy comparto other colleges and marking system is very lenient.

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
