Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is well upadated and ready for industry needs. I have chosen chemical engineering that is an evergreen branch here. The practical portion of the syllabus needs to be increased as i think. There are many exams throughout a semester along with practicals and class tests.
Placement Experience
Placements are only for 4th year students. But internships are also provided to the students of 2nd and 3rd year in the month of January and february. Reliance google wipro gail gas are the top recruiters. Highest package last year was 36 lakhs per annum. Average package is 12 lakhs per annum. 80 to 90 % get placed. I would go for mtech by gate exam.
Fees and Financial Aid
I have to pay 21500 mess fees and 4000 hostel fees for 6 months . The tuition fees is 62000 for first semester and there are other one time fees and refundable security deposits. Other than that 17500 were taken by josaa counselling before physical reporting. As a SC quota student i am free to pay tuition fees. NSP is valid in the institution.
Campus Life
The yearly fests are rang e chinar and techwaganza here. But celebrations are held every week.there are smart classrooms and technology uses while teaching l. The sports facilities are average. Cricket ground is unavailable for now. Library centre is best and big. Many clubs are there like music and dancing
Hostel Facilities
Room just has 5 beds without matresses and 3 almirahsin bulit. They may provide a room heater in winters. Mess quality is quite good and clean than expected. Hostel registration is done in hostel mess office along with physical reporting it is averagely affordable.
Admission
I havent applied for any other college because i wanted to live in kashmir. It was my dream college because it is the most beautiful NiT being tier 2. I have also applied for IT branch in the same college but i didnt got that because of high cutoff. The admission is through josaa counselling just like all other NITs
Faculty
The ratio of faculties to student is average 1 on 50 estimated. But the teachers are very good and corporative speciallythe old members. Mr. Kurella swamy is very good teacher and very focusing on students. The guest faculties are average. There are mid term and end semesters exams. The course is very updated and relevant.
