Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum is divided credit wise, that is number of hours a subject is taught per week. This helps is giving appropriate time to every subject according to their importance. Subjects having higher credit also hold higher percentage in cgpa. Apart from core subjects , there are certain non credit/zero credit subjects which are introduced like Ethics,Constitution of India, Biology,Yoga etc. that help in making the engineering curriculum interdisciplinary. The teaching methods are majorly traditional, with a powerpoint presentation and using blackboard. Labs are held in seperate computerised rooms. I mostly enjoy the traditional blackboard form of teaching, although it might not be the taste for everyone. The mid term exams are held around the mid of the semester and end term after the teaching for the semester is over. The frequency of exams is pretty well managed , without overly burdening the students.

Internships Opportunities

4

The college do offer Practice School opportunities, that can be opted either in 7th sem or 8th sem. Some companies that have visited for practice school opportunities are: Squibix, ZeonAI, Surya Technologies, Haber, Glosity, Micron All these companies have roughly offered stipend within 30000 per month.

Placement Experience

4

The placements of the college , officially start around end of 6th semester. Lot of companies come during this time to offer internship or Practice School for 7th semester or 8th semester, where you work on site with the company and skip that semester, but later give the exams for the semester you opted Practice School in. You can avail a maximum of 2 offers through the college placement drive, but there is no restrictions for off campus applications. Companies who have made visits till now are: Haber, Surya Technologies, Genpact, LTIMindtree, Accenture, Mindfire Digital LLP, Scaledge, Micron, Squibix, Glosity, ZeonAI , HP, Stratlytics, Aptus Data Lab etc. The average percentage should be above 7 CGPA , with no back paper atleast to safely apply for all companies, however it varies . some companies do allow over 6 CGPA . Last year we had a nearly complete placement, with more than 90 percent getting atleast one offer. I do aim to achieve a good compant through the placement drive.

Fees and Financial Aid

Being a private college, it is pretty affordable as per me The base yearly(two semester) fees is Rs. 1,53,000: which breaks up into 1,50,000 towards tuition fees and 3000 towards examination fees. Apart from these some additional fees may include: Internships/summer course(once after every year, if opted): Ranges between Rs.3000-5000 Club Memberships( doesn't apply for all clubs): Rs. 200-300(once a year) Transport fees if availed by day scholars, is included in the security deposit done in the first year.

Campus Life

4.5

The annual cultural fest is called Zygon , held generally around the end or start of the year. The Technical fest is NIRMAN, hosted by SIPC of our college. There are over 10 operating students clubs, which are completely student driven, Infact the fests are also organised by students. Apart from these annual fests, the clubs hold their own annual and periodic events throughout the year. The library has an E-library, seperate cubicles for self study and also discussion rooms with intensive ac equipped study areas. The sports complex has a running track, sepearate basketball and football ground, and also an area for badminton and throwball. There are multifacility seperate men and women gyms as well. The campus is very nature friendly, with a lot of greenery which is my personal favourite part of the campus.

Admission

I had applied for other colleges like KIIT, ITER(SOA). I did recieve a confirmed admission from KIIT, but did not choose to appear for ITER exam, as i had already recieved a confirmation from Silicon University. I didn't opt to go for KIIT because first of all , the semester fees are much higher in comparison to silicon. I wanted to have an affordable option with quality education, which all fit with silicon at that time. After the JEE exams, you wait for OJEE counselling , and select your preferred branch in the counselling. After seat confirmation, you are called to the college, and you have a counselling with the admission counsellor, who goes through various things like branch allocation and if you have any other doubts you can get clarified as well. With my JEE rank, I got an option for Electrical and Electronics Engineering, which is later changed into Computer Science in my second year with securing a 9 CGPA . The cutoff to opt for branch change is 8.5 CGPA.

Faculty

3.5

The faculties of the university, are pretty well trained and are mostly PhD holders and have been associated with the institution for nearly over 10 years. Relationship between students and faculties of course vary for everyone. But there is no faculty who is unapproachable. If you are polite and have genuine issue, i am sure the faculties will be more than happy to help. The course structure is pretty relevant and is also regularly updated as per the AICTE set curriculum. Our institute is very academic intensive, with faculties assigning regular assignments and surprise tests. The exams for a whole semester is held in two tests, namely mid-term and end-term exams. Let me break it down for you: Total marks per semester(for every subject): 100 marks(25+15+60) 25 marks: for mid term 15 marks: Teacher's Assesment( includes Surprise Tests, Assignments, personal assesment) 60: End term There are provisions for repeat mid term and supplementary exams.

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
