Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The curriculum is comprehensive, it's practical as it's more based on assignments , tutorials, practicals and theory. They have a real way of teaching and even creative ways for assignments. For example, for a 25 marks activity we were asked to review a movie based on management. The curriculum is well established as is applied as well . The teaching could improve though as some teachers don't really put in effort. The exam difficulty level is decent . I do see real life improvement and not just bookish cramming.

Internships Opportunities

4

Most of the roles come for auditing , finance and consulting. Past recruiters have been axxela , Barclays, Crowe,Hcl, EY, Paytm, Oyo , Puma, PWC , Deloitte etc. Internship and placement cell organise bootcamps , workshops, training sessions and much more to give hands on experience .

Placement Experience

4.5

The alumni network of hansraj is strong as it has been a doorway for many famous bureaucrats and entrepreneurs such as Naveen Jindal himself. The societies are very active as well which enhance real life skills of students which further helps them to acquire a job due to experience. The internship cell works for giving us access to prospective internship which starts from sem 1 too. The highest package stood at 36.5 lakhs . The placement cell of Hansraj is a student run cell that plays a huge role too . As I have said before , majority of students offered job (74%) were from commerce stream. The average package stands at 8.2 lpa and median at 7 lpa

Fees and Financial Aid

My yearly fee for bcom hons is 28,430 which is reasonable given the college is well furnished, has ac in all classroom, cleanliness is in check , all the necessary courses are provided, variety of sec ge and vac courses are offered too . For other courses, the fee is relatively less .

Campus Life

4

Most of the events are held from January to March. extracurriculars are well promoted through societies and clubs but access to a good sports complex is lacking. Library is convenient and huge and covers almost all the segments well. Girls hostel is newly made thus it's clean , spacious and air conditioned. There is a student run as well as college run in campus therapist and counsellor for providing mental help . The societies are the best part of hansraj as they are very active and offers a variety of range . Classes are spacious, air conditioned and we'll furnished.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The pg I was living in before being alloted the hostel costs around 14000 per month without electricity and is at a walking distance from college. Most of the girls pg range from 12 -18 thousand where as boys pg are relatively cheaper. Same implies on hostel ,boy hostel is relatively cheaper but is also not air conditioned so I guess it's fair. Girls hostel can only accommodate around 31 girls which is a huge drawback and even the fees is unreal for a government run college. I'll say hostel and pg will cost same to girls but for boys it'll be more affordable to get a hostel. The food at hostel mess is decent , sometimes even better than decent.

Admission

I was allotted Shri guru Gobind Singh college of commerce before and definitely hansraj is way better in terms of exposure provided. I had the option to upgrade to srcc , hindu or lady Shri Ram. But I didn't. As the cutoff was way too high for srcc and lsr is a south campus college. Hindu is better for arts as hansraj is for commerce. Specifically for bcom hons. , I think hansraj is a good college after srcc . The exam for getting in DU is cuet and the cutoff for srcc was asking high as 782/800 where as for hansraj it stood at 771/800. As I knew there were no chances of getting into srcc I freezed at hansraj and I can say I am satisfied. Lady Shri Ram is a great college as well as it has the highest placement throughout DU . I didn't choose it as it was a south campus college which limits exposure and I had no wish for a instant placement after graduation.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty to student ratio should increase as one section has a strength of 100 students in bcom hons. , it's really difficult to adapt accordingly. A lot of classes has been getting cancelled lately but it really depends on which section you're in. As bcom hons is a demanded course , the faculty in this field should increase. The assessment patern is simple. The curriculum is relevant as a large part of credit is based on practicals and tutorials and not just on theory papers. The faculty is friendly and helpful. They even provide personalized help and regular doubt sessions. Though due to absentism and large strength it's inconvenient.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

Placement Experience:

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement is quite good the percentage of students is not same always it changes but only those students with proper knowledge, experience, skills get good placement. There is a proper placement cell for this which is very active. Prepare for government exams (SSC, UPSC, etc.) Go for higher education (PG, B.Ed., MBA, etc.) Enroll in skill-based or professional certification courses outside college

Placement Experience:

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...

Academically you can choose it but if you are looking for some fancy institution with some best infrastructure and fancy canteen I won't suggest you this college. But this college has one of the very best cricket team and one of our student named Mayank dagar is leading Indian National under-19 team. So I think you understand the impact.
