Likes

As the college is built recently and the B.Tech batch has started from this year 2024 it will take some time.
The infrastructure of the college is very good and well maintained.They also have many facilities like BUS Services, All campus Wifi , 3-4 Canteen with affordable rates. 24*7 Cooler water, etc.
The Faculty are very good and friendly. They all have done there graduation from IIT , NIT.

Dislikes

As this is the new Btech batch there is a shortage of Computer. But it will be fix by 3-4 weeks.
College has many empty labs as they are slowly adding new courses per year.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is same as other engineering colleges and the faculty members teach them very well. Every week there is a class on entrepreneurship where they teach student how to start a buisness and explore ideas.

Its a new university so when the companies come for placement drive i will write a fully explained review. But as promised by the faculty and the VC there will many tech companies which will be come for placement drive like : TATA , Hero , TCS , Wipro etc

Fees and Financial Aid

- Per Sem Fees is 20000. - Addmission Fees : 850 , Course Fee : 12445 , Libraray Fee : 300 , Lab fee : 4250 , Miscellaneous Fee ( including everything ) : 2155 - College also provide Fee waiver option ( Course fees is completely free for those whose family annual income is less than 2 Lac no matter what the category is! )

Campus Life

Campus Life very good . The Seniors student run many clubs like drama , gaming , sports , literature etc . All the labs have AC and Classroom have inverter so their is no issue of Electricity. There are many books in Library which are provided to the students.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel is also very well maintained. Its has kany facilities Like : 24*7 water and electricity, Double room , 3 time Food ( excluding evening snacks ) , wifi , filtered water , etc . The mess food is very good and tasty . Everyday there is new menu so we dont feel bored of eating same food everyday.

Hostel Fee: INR 5000 per year

Admission

I honestly didn't want to join this college as this is a new college but i only want to persue CSE only so as per my JEE marks I didn't get any GFTIs and I dont have enough money to take Addmission in Private college. Addmission is based on the marks of JEE and CEE . and minimum percentage of PCM must be 60%.

Faculty

All the faculty members are very good and they are very approachable. They incourage the student to become entrepreneurs and explore new ideas in this 4 year journey. Course curriculum is same as other engineering colleges.Btech Sem exam has bot started yet so i unable to review it but i will do when ever it happens.

Placement Experience:

Placements at IIT Guwahati are excellent especially in the tech field ,with high placement rates and strong average packages generally Rs 30 lakh per annum. Top companies regularly visit the campus. After completing the course if i do not get placed on campus which is hardly possible i'll look for other off campus placements.

A calm and disciplined campus life at JIST

Course Curriculum Overview:

Most of the professors are good here.The college covers the core subjects required for strong foundation in engineering. However the theoretical coverage is good the scope for practical exposure is still required.

Placement Experience:

The placement is quite good in my college. In 7 th semester the placements start and the package goes from 16lpa to 2 cr . About 75 percent student who applied got placed . I want to work in a software firm.

The placement of Assam engineering College is average as compared to the other colleges like iit and not. Aec gives placement around 20-24 lakhs and many company parts in the placement cell and many of the students get their dream job

Placement Experience:

Students normally appear for placements in fourth year with two placement seasons namely from december to january and february to march. Companies include quant companies and tech giants like JPMC, Reliance Industries, WellsFargo,Piramal, Standard Chartered,Texas Instrumentation, walmart, Microsoft, Amazon, Deloitte,Oracle, HCL, Barclays, Tata steel, uber, legato, Mastercard, Nutanix, BPCL, BEL,PWC, Socgen, etc. Almost 80% students get placed every year with the average package ?1,60,000. The highest package was 1.68 crore per annum from the branch of Computer Science.

ASSAM UNIVERSITY SILCHAR , THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY

Placement Experience:

only fourth year students are eligible for campus placements . the detalis of the visiting compaies are not thte sure but at least 10 stuents are placed each year from every single batch. the higest so far was 20 lpa and it was in amazon , the student who cracked that placement applied it off campus . on campus placement was not more than 10 lpa so far . the percentage of students getting placemnets are less than 50% not because of quality of placement but majority stuents opt for higher studies or goverment jobs rather than direct placement . my paln is to also pursue higher education

5 or 6 semester onwards students are eligible for internships in off campus . They can opt for PPO. There are severe companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, Flipkart, and some top MNCs . overall campus is perfect to spend 4 years

Charmingly Challenging Champion

Placement Experience:

After the 6th sem placement season starts. The intern season takes place at the end of the 4th sem. The placement of the college is extremely good. The average package of the college is around 21 lakhs. That of CSE is 41 lakhs. Mncs is 35 lakhs etc. Projected package of my branch DSAI is 40 lakhs.

I want to apply to RTU ( RABINDRANATH TAGORE UNIVERSITY). But due to insufficient funds couldn't take addmission. My seniors are there and told me it is good university and genuine when i heard about thier marks it is very appreciable. I took admission to GC college, Silchar. And there also I opted for BSC computer science. As this is the subject that I love the most . It's only that I was "rejected" from that college.
