Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) program mainly due to its well structured curriculum, and it up to date. Inclusion of subjects like Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning makes it highly relevant to current industry trends Exams are usually taken 4 times a year, or 2 times a semester
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are provided, but mostly people are unable to crack. A good stipend is given by some of the companies like Providence India, BNY, Dell, etc. However they are difficult to crack
Placement Experience
Placements are average. Usually a lot of offers are made, but students are unable to crack it. In total around 300+ companies offer jobs. The average for CSE is around Rs 8LPA. Highest package is around Rs 60-70LPA
Fees and Financial Aid
KIIT is reputed eductional institution, offering wide array of programs in technical, managerial and liberal arts fields. The university is known for its infrastructure, academic quality, and placement opportunities. KIIT offers diverse undergaduate and postgraduate programs in engineering, management, and law etc. The faculty is very good and well qualified. Fee structure varies depending on program and category of admission. For me it was, Rs. 3,50,000/year Tuition fees, Rs 75000 admission fee, which is one time. Hostel fees is 56000/year and mess fees is Rs 45000/year For people opting for AC rooms/premium rooms, Hostel fee can be as high as Rs 1,20,000/year. Scholarships are given on the basis of entrance exam. Which is around 25%.
Campus Life
Annual fests are really good. They happen usually around early in the year. There are multiple societies one can join, for music, dance, sports, cooking, literature, coding, etc. The campus in itself is huge, so the campus life is good.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are usually divided in AC and Non AC rooms. And further into 3-2-1 seaters. Fees are more for AC rooms. Even premium rooms are available at premium price, for attached bathrooms. Mess food is average, but moslty better than other colleges.
Admission
I applied for AMU, JMI, NIT Silchar. However I considered KIIT for the branch. My interest is more inclined towards the CSE subjects. I got rejected mostly from higher NITs. And I couldn't make it due to not so good JEE mains score. Time management has been my issue mostly. Admission Process for KIIT: Admission for BTech happens through its own entrance exam, KIITEE. Which asks Maths, Physics and Chemistry as usual. The cutoff usually varies, however, for CSE its usually within top 5000 ranks. After the cutoff is cleared, one can just go through conseling process and document verification is done. And Seat is alloted according to preference and score.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is around 1:80. However the faculty is generally approachable and helpful. Professors are actively engaged with students during the lecture. And are open to clarifying doubts. There are usually 2 exams every semester, Mid sem and End sem. And they are usually easy-medium. Not very difficult to crack 9sgpa
