What Students Say
Likes
- The campus is quite frankly very large, you could spend a whole day just exploring the entire campus.
- Everything is available at a close distance, all sorts of shops are very nearby so i never had an issue getting anything at all
- In my university , they spare no expenses for anything. If you can do something with money here it is just done
Dislikes
- Since the uni is in Odisha i often come across people who simply don't speak a language that i do and that results in some problems.
- The price of some commodities is on the higher side for things in close proximity
- The weather and climate conditions are annoying, it can rain anytime and even after raining the weather conditions only worsen due to humidity
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is a standard BTECH CSE type . All the important core subjects are there that pertain to my field of expertise. There are some subjects which feel straight up irrelevant but what you can do about that right?
Internships Opportunities
The companies who offer internship start showing up around 5th semester, by then you are already expected to have made a resume and started learning according to your domain rather than just academics.
Placement Experience
The students become eligible at the end of 6th semester, they're expected to either commit to an internship or start prepaing for their placements by that time. A lot of companies show up to my university for placements. For a private college id actually rate the placement scene here on the higher side considering how the situation is in today's market.
Fees and Financial Aid
When i took admission the fee structure was slightly different. I am paying nearly 500000Rs a year, half of that per semester. The amount I pay for the hostel is 28 thousand INR and the amount i pay for the mess is 225000 PER SEMESTER. During final examinations we are expected to pay 1000 Rs. to give our exams. Besides that the university itself doesn't require any money from us. For scholarship i am told that there is a 20% waiver on tuition fees. To avail that you must score a high number in the university entrance exam KIITEE.
Campus Life
I am not a very social person, I prefer reading books or just going to swim over engaging in societies or any other extracurricular affairs but from what little I have already experienced it has been a very memorable and joyous phase of life for me
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility is pretty decent, you have a dedicated washing machine given to the students which gets its own special mentions. As for the meal , its just like any other hostel only it's worse because the people here have a very different veg palate compared to me.
Admission
This college is actually very close to my hometown. I can go home in an overnight train journey, this makes the college very accessible to me. As for other colleges i applied to a lot of them and managed to even clear most of them. Some of the colleges i just discarded because they aren't a good suit for me , others were just too expensive. Colleges like Amity have a very bad rep
Faculty
The ratio is 1:80 for faculty to students. There are a lot of professors who are very good, frank and well natured. But as is true for every education institution in any part of the world there are negative people. It's a good thing that you are able to choose your own teaching faculty for every semester because if you get a professor with a bad nature your marks might be in grave danger. Hard to get internals even if you do your best
Other Applied Colleges
Amity University | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
KIIT is much closer to my home
