Girl to boys ratio is around 20 precent .
Weather of Kharagpur is not good most of time
Campus area is too large to explore, to reach classroom it is around 2.5km

Course Curriculum Overview

As I am in Biotech Department, for 1st year there is not lot of thing for biotech core instead from 2nd year onwards we have lot work to do with biosciences. Frequency of exams is 2 per semester plus Lab test plus 2-3 Class Test

Class Size: 66Course Fees: INR 300000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees for one semester is around 1,50,000 it also includes hostel and mess charges. To avail Scholarship one should have income less than 5 lacs, 2/3rd wavier on tution fee. If family income is less 1 lac than no tution fee. Also for SC/ST no tution fee are there

Campus Life

Kharagpur organise several fest including tech fest, Spring fest, Sport fest (Shaurya). Clubs and Societies here are best to provide good contact with seniors. Iit KGP has central Library where 1000 student can be accommodate.

Admission

Since IIT Kharagpur is government college, and have lot facilities for academics, sports and extra curriculum. Even KHARAGPUR is first among all other IITs especially for Sports. and the oldest iit is Kharagpur. To take admission, JEE Advanced must be qualified with good rank!!

Faculty

For Btech 1st year, almost all department has same course. So for particular subject, single faculty is assigned to 3 department which approximately has 200 students. Some professor here is good but some are kind of lacking cause of their teaching style. 2 exams per semester are there, and class test in between...

Placement Experience:

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
