Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Curriculum is very extensive in any field, students who study it properly are ready to take on challenges in the real world. Some courses could be a little easier, but for the most part, they train for real engineering applications with in depth content and practical labs, and freedom to pursue further research in any field. Exams are spaced a little snugly, but nothing unmanageable.

Internships Opportunities

5

Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Nvidia, Google, etc. with technical and managerial roles arrive each year for internships at the institute. They offer outreach programs in other countries with hefty stipends and learning opportunities.

Placement Experience

5

Students who have completed the 7th semester are eligible for placements. An incredible amount of companies and fresh startups recruit in campus placement. People who apply for placements almost always get an offer, however, a not-insignificant number of students opt to launch a startup instead, which is what I intend to do.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee is around 3LPA for 4 years of the B.Tech progra., a lot of internal and external scholarships applicable. Other categories avail monetary aid and female candidates avail an extra amount on top of that.

Campus Life

5

December holds the largest festivals in the country, Techfest and Mood Indigo, with both technical and cultural communities finding themselves here. The most cutting edge technological facilities are available for students and researchers, every possible sports facility is provided, most of the committees are student organised, for technical and cultural clubs, for social work, there's a student parliament and everything, teaching the students real world responsibilities.

Hostel Facilities

4

Room has Wi-Fi, a desk, a wardrobe , a LAN port and a bed for every student. Super simple registration process and surprisingly edible food for a hostel, with Non-vegetarian options twice a week, sweets almost everyday and fruits and veg. Room's kinda small tho.

Admission

Because this is the best institute in the country, and I made it in. Nothing went wrong, cracked JEE Mains and Advanced and fulfilled every required criterion for admission. I don't think the cutthroat competition here is a secret in any shape or form.

Faculty

4

About 10:1. Almost all faculties are very approachable and helpful if you put genuine effort. Professor Udayan Ganguly is a very approachable and well spoken professor. Some professors are sticklers for discipline, like Prof. Rahul Maitra. We have quizzes, mid-semester exams and end-semester exams, of which weightage varies with given courses. There's lab work for first year undergraduate students too. Exams are tough, but students who put any sort of effort pass without any problem. A very small percentage of students fail any given course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
