This college is full of greenary surrounded by its enormous campus.
Seniors of this college are very supportive and they offer help whenever we are in need of it. They even provide notes to us.
This college contains large number of clubs all with different ideas and moto. This college emphasis on extra curricular activities.

Dislikes

Restriction for first year to roam in campus and to admire it charm.

Course Curriculum Overview

I always want to opt CS due to my interest in programs and computer. Their curriculum train us to get a proper software engineer,it includes communication skills course and labs and student can choose what they want to learn from second or third year from different fields. The curriculum includes lots of practical files and assignment which takes lot of time and causes student to practice less their own and they often engage in completing practical files by using chatgpt and copy others.

Class Size: 90Course Fees: INR 62500 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Since I am EWS candidate with annual income less than 1 lakh rupees, I get refund of rupees 41,400 rupees from my 80k which I gave during Josaa Counseling after first semester.Some of my friend who belongs to group whose annual income greater than 500000 had to pay 21,100 during addmission. Here at NIT Hamirpur, there many scholarship programs offered by reliance foundation,etc.

Campus Life

This college has all enormous campus of 320 acres with beautiful greenary. Different clubs organise many events throughout the years and the major events of this college is Hill Affairs (Cultural fest) and Nimbus (tech fest). The infrastructure of this college is one best you find in NITS. It has classroom with smart board and projects. Two lecture hall:- New LH and Old LH and two auditorium. This college contains enormous playing field and SAC( Student Activity Centre) where different clubs rooms are present and has indoor tennis and basketball facility.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel facility offered by NITH is far better than other NIT, it has great mess. Every hostel has badminton and table tennis court. Volleyball ground. Even has gym and study room within the hostel. But it has water problem during rainy season because of blockage of pumps. Most of hostel rooms has lan and even a 11cr tender has given to jio to install high speed wifi. This college is situated at a remote area but its locality is on high altitude which give great view.

Hostel Fee: INR 40000 per year

Admission

Since I have come to this college via Jossaa Counseling so I don't have much of a choice. I have got this college according to my choice filling order. Even getting in this college is not easy since it Tier 2 college.

Faculty

In first year student is taught by guest and from second year professor teach students their respective courses. There are two exam in each semester one is mid terms and end terms followed by quizzes, surprise tests and Viva. The first year curriculum is not much relevant since in first year we explore all BTech branches.

Placement Experience:

Chandigarh-based companies or the startups, and training institutes come here. Companies like Meander Software, Bebo Technologies, Novem Control, BookingKoala - Sales Hungary, etc. companies come. Average package is 3.8 LPA, and 50% students are getting placed. My plans after getting the degree is working in an IT company.

yes they povide placements. After 6th sem, means in 7th sem you are eligible for placement and apply for companies based on their requirements. Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Amazon and many more visits every year. Highest is the PPO of 93 lakhs and placement of 60 lakhs. around 93% are placed who registers for placements Average CTC is around in between 18 to 22 lakhs

Placement Experience:

At NIT Hamirpur, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards, and the placement scenario has been quite encouraging in recent years. A wide range of companies such as Infosys, Wipro, L\&T, Capgemini, Tata Projects, and several core as well as IT firms visit the campus every year. The highest placement touched an impressive 2.05 crore offered to a mechanical engineering student, while the overall average package stands at around 10.5 LPA, which is a strong figure compared to many other NITs. The placement percentage remains high, with a majority of students securing offers, especially in branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, though core branches like civil and mechanical also receive good opportunities. The profiles offered include roles in software development, consulting, design, project engineering, and research. After completing my degree, I plan to take advantage of these placement opportunities to gain solid industry experience and later decide whether to pursue higher studies or competitive exams for broader career growth.

Environment of my college

Remarks:

There are mostly good remarks for college like the environment in kangra Himachal Pradesh is best in the area. There are dhauladar hill ranges infront for college and fress air of hilly areas are good for students.

Everything about my college

When I was applying for engineering, I had filled applications for a few other NITs and state engineering colleges, but finally I chose NIT Hamirpur because of its good academic reputation, supportive campus environment, and better placement opportunities compared to the others. Some colleges I applied to had very high cutoffs and I couldn’t make it there because my JEE Main score was slightly lower than required, but NIT Hamirpur’s cutoff matched my rank, so I got admission here. The admission process was through JEE Main followed by JoSAA counseling, which is the most common and preferred route for B.Tech aspirants. The eligibility was 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and the cutoff for civil engineering here was comparatively achievable for me. The overall admission process was transparent and smooth, from registering for counseling to final seat allotment. I applied just in government degree college , kullu where I opted bsc but this college is far better than Kullu College in terms of facilities to faculty, as well as ranking , reputation. The admission was done by josaa. The admission process was easy. Simply go to their online portal and submit details and required documents. NIT Hamirpur offers more than 30 programmes at UG, PG and doctoral level. Candidates seeking admission to any of these courses must appear for the respective entrance exam and qualify its cutoff. NIT Hamirpur offers a four-year BTech programme across nine specialisations in full-time mode. The selection of candidates to NIT Hamirpurs BTech programme is based on their JEE Main score. The centralised counselling process is managed and regulated by the JoSAA, based on which the candidates are allotted seats.
