KJ Somaiya, worth it ?

Course is very detailed and talks about all the possibilities of problems which could be solved hypothetically. The curriculum mainly focuses on theory, but the practical labs, work on code building. Teaching is done on a smart projector, but the way faculties teach is boring which encourages students to bunk classes. Efficient breaks are given in between the exams. Not difficult to score.

Internships of all types are available. Internship under faculty or under a company is optional. Internships from 1 month long to 6month long with stipend is provided. Companies like: nStore, Bynry, Lyondellbasell, Siemens, and many more provide interships for sem long. Projects like backend or frontend building, web development, application development, data analysis are alloted.

We are allowed to sit for placements, only in last year(Ly). Around 200 companies had visited somaiya last year. Highest package was Microsoft with 51LPA, 2 stundents, one from CS, one from IT. Companies like: JP Morgan, Microsoft, Edelweiss, ICICI, Godrej, Barclays, etc. Average package: 10LPA Most students who sit for placements are placed. About 90% students are placed. I would be doing Mtech after my BTech

Symphony and Skream are two main events of KJSCE. Symphony involves talent presentation, concerts and celebrations. Skream is a sport fest, where all sports are played in a tournament and winners are awarded. In the library, we have infinte availability of books, offline or online. We can issue some books for sometime from the library to study. The rooms have AC, smart boards and wooden benches. Sports like: Cricket,rink football, chess, volleyball, ground football and all the sports of the athletic ground. We get an .5+ CGPA with sports achievements.

This college was in my same city, hence opted for this college. It is a reknowned college, with good faculties, proper workbase, nice campus. I applied for mamy colleges: VIT, SRM, BITS, NIT, and many more. I got admission in VIT and SRM, but the work environment was not proper. After my first JEE attempt, I got into KJ Somaiya College of Engineering. I applied on their online webpage and after round 1 admissions, I got an admission mail. KJ takes admission on the basis of JEE mains score or PERA Cet, in 2021. Those who apply first, get their seats first.

Very moody faculty. A class of 60 has 3 batches, and one faculty over one batch. Faculties provide answers to solutions, but in their own way. Some bad faculties: Chirag Desai, Avani Sakhapara. Good faculties: R. Divekar, Nilkamal. These faculties are selected on personal opinion. Exams: 3 kinds: Internal Assessmen (2 exams- 20mark) In sem Exam (30mark) End sem Exam (100 mark)
