- Internship Opportunities from College are bit less.
Course Curriculum Overview
Like majority of engineering colleges, the syllabus is old fashioned but the pro is the electives. Here you will get a list of elective that faculties will decide that you should choose this subject or other but some subjects are really good if you want to go for higher studies like Mtech. Referring to GATE Electrical syllabus, the curriculum is highly relevant.
Internships Opportunities
Internships with stipends are quite less in core sector but in software, yes you can good stipend in the range of 10-30k depending upon company. Companies like Cisco and Amazon provides 6 months internship for final year students with a high stipend of around 60k. Students generally do free internship in State PSUs for industrial exposure.
Placement Experience
After 6th sem, on campus placement starts. As it is listed in NIRF ranking band 250-300, Big companies like L&T, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Vedanta, Tata Power, Godrej and Boyce and many more in the core sector come here. Mass recruiters like TCS, ACCENTURE, COGNIZANT.... also visit. Deloitte, Mu Sigma alike consulting companies also come. So placement opportunities are good. Average package of core branches and CSE lies in the rang of 6-7 lacs with Highest going upto 12-13 lpa in core and 30-40 lacs in software domain. Placement percentage lies around 80 percentage. You can have the details at college placement site.
Fees and Financial Aid
Basically ODisha University of Technology and Research ( Formerly CET Bhubaneswar) is a state government University. Fees per sem: 15-16K per sem ( for day scholars) For hostellers, it is 21k per sem including hostel fees. Hostellers would be paying additional mess fees which is around 5200 per sem. Fees generally remain same throughout the years.
Campus Life
Fests are good. Technical fest named perception and Cultural fest like Xtasy will be organised every year. Well known singers like Ankit Tiwari, Gajendra verma performed in the fest along with some notable standups and dj. Engineers cup also happens each year. Rest if you can take the lead, you can convince authorities to organise some workshop sort of things. Infrastructure is not good. Means it has a campus area of 100 acres but it is in developing state. Soon it will emerge as one of the best engineering colleges.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are good. Hostel food costs around 2.5-3k a month. Rest quality is good. One demerit is for first year students, hostel facilities are limited so it's bit difficult to get hostel if you have a lower rank.
Admission
I had 59000 rank(94.8 Percentile) in JEE MAINS in the year of 2019. I was getting NIT Rourkela food processing, ceramic type branches. But the main thing that led to consider this college is, this is a state government University and it is highly reputed in Odisha next to IITs and NITs. Brand value is good. Big companies like L&T, Maruti Suzuki, Amazon visit on campus. Rest is it's affordability. Here one can take admission after securing around 90 percentile in jee mains ( Varies according to year and branch). CSE Branch cutt of generally lies above 95 percentile in JEE mains.
Faculty
As this is a Govt College, it has highly qualified professionals who are IITIANS or Niti and mostly. Faculty to student ratio is good. Only con is those guys will not directly guide you regarding future opportunities, you have to go to them and ask. some faculties are really helpful and some are really strict. In each sem there would be one classroom quiz, one midsem and the end sem. Exams are bit on easier side if you can analyse PYQs well.
