Why Thapar

As nothing is perfect, there are some things like the fees structure is very expensive, but living a life like makes you more strong.The Positive thing that,I, have seen is that if you are new to the college everyone here is ready to help you irrespective to anything. Well Thapar has educating students since 1956 and will remain the one of the top private Engineering college in India.

There are all the courses available and during the first year students will be taught basic Engineering courses (which are common to all the students irrespective to their stream).The Examination are organised in the middle and at the end of the semester.There will be a reading week a week prior to the starting of the Examination(Mid-Sem or End-Sem either).

Placements are great and average package is about (8 lakhs) and total companies that arrive in the college is close to 320 for a complete year. A lot of companies also arrive for the internship for the pre final year students.

A lot of events are organised during the whole year. It starts from Proem Week which is exclusively held for the First Year and much more. Saturnalia is organised during November and a lot of technical competetion are also organised during that fest. Some are Frosh Week, Elementos, Izhaar, Urja and more.

The fees is very expensive. It's close to 5 lakhs per year(20 lakhs total)including hostel fees. And scholarship are also provided to students who scored good marks during their Board Exams and also to those who get a good GPA during the course.

There are a lot of scholarships provided by the college. Students who scores good marks in their board exams may get a chance to avail a scholarship. That's not the only chance, if a student scores well during their exams also get a scholarship. Loan facility are also offered there are two banks itself in the campus(SBI and ICICI) which provide students with study loans.

There a lot of labs present in the campus of every Department and with good equipments and different types of Extracurricular activities are being organised during the whole year. Sports has been given very much importance, There is a cricket Ground,Football Ground, Tennis, Badminton, Volleyball Court and a swimming pool present in the campus. Sports Fest(Thaparlyimpics and Urja) are being organised in the college.

There are total 13 hostels(8 Boys and 5 Girls). The hostel provided to the students during the first year are sharing ones (2 Sharing, 3 Sharing or 4 Sharing) and onward there is a great chance that you will be able to have a room of your own and with attached washroom and AC fitted. There are a lot of different types of room. Facilities are Gym, TV Room, Laundry, TT Room, Reading Room and much more.

Senior Student are very helpful and kind. During the first few weeks at the college many events are organised so that new students get to know about the environment. There is also Alumni Network AlmaConnect which has about 4000 members and alumni are also invited to have interaction sessions with the students.

The faculty is really good and knowledgeable.They help anyone at any point irrespective to their course. Some are working on projects of the topic of their specialization and also invite students to work with them.
