Faculties behaviour is very good. They are very friendly
Dynamic classes. Encourage student's participation through debate/presentations. It's all due to no-grade subjects like Life Skills and Professional Communication

Course Curriculum Overview

- Life skills and Professional communication are two first year gradeless subjects which involve Group Discussion (very important for on-campus placements), Presentation (important for jobs) etc - TPC or Training and Placement Cell for highly optimised placement procedure

Internships Opportunities

- Internship opportunity hasn't been used much by students so the information is limited. - There are various 'internships' circulated in groups. But, most of these are courses. However, they reward activity points which is valuable since 100 activity points are required to obtain BTech certificate

- S7/S8 students are eligible for placements - Infosys, TCS, WIPRO, Capegemini, HCL etc are some of the companies - There have been students who got placed in companies like Microsoft and Google in the past years

Scholarship available for SC/ST students as per KTU official document. It can be found at https://ktu.edu.in. NRI fees per year is ?1,00,000 Merit fees is ?44,310 per year Management fees is ?65,000 per year

Campus Life

- Clubs or societies include IEEE, IEDC, Google Developer Community (GDC), SPACS etc - Books and journals are plenty in the library. 4 books can be borrowed simultaneously at maximum - Sports competitions are very frequent. Includes cricket and football

Admission

- This was closest to my home - A lot of my family members studied here and later became very successful in their lives, partially due to this underrated college - I had only applied to this college in specific branch: CSE - Admission procedure involves writing the KEAM or Kerala Engineering, Architecture and Medical entrance examination.

Faculty

Faculty to student ratio is very important. Here, it has been carefully maintained and is appropriate. There are two teachers for each subject in class CS-A and CS-B, which are the subdivisions of CSE classes, 60 students each

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?

The CEC have agood ranking in academics. When compared to other government engineering college, CEC is not bad in academics. The teaching and other academic activities are in international level.
