Likes
- Campus is very large and green and is equipped with great sports facilities and food courts. College EVs are available for easy conveyance. Crowd is good and non judgmental and there is no ragging.
- Subject faculty are well qualified and are experienced but still if one cannot understand what are they teaching they provide all the material from which one can study. Mentors listen to our problems and also help us.
- Yes the college provides placement in the placement cell and the infrastructure is very good and there are library and reading halls and the curriculum is up to date. and there are many clubs which one can join.
Dislikes
- Because of very large campus we have to travel long distances to attend classes or to buy daily essentials.
- College is very crowded as there are too many students here so the competition is tough.
- Hostel rules are very strict and high fines are imposed on those who break the rules and intime is 6:30 pm.
Course Curriculum Overview
Some specific aspects of the curriculum that influencend me to choose Btech in CSE in this university are, Rich Coding culture- the colege provides good crowd,and organizes hackathons and other programmes. Clubs and Societies- the college has many clubs and societies which one can join and upskill themselves like robotics clubs , dance or singing or photography or hindi club and many more.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like delloite ,pwc ,kpmg,dell ,nutanix, OYO, High radius have visited and offered internships for various roles and with stipend. Major out comes of these internships are that one gets an experience how to work in companies.
Placement Experience
Yes KIIT provides campus placement. a lot of companies come here to offer placements from 2lpa to 30lpa but yes you have to work hard to get placed. in 6-7 th semester students are eligible for campus placements. Name of the companies: Amazon VMWare SAP Nutanix Morgan Stanley Dell HP FICO Autodesk and many others number of offers was between 4000 to 4200 and highest package was 52LPA and average is 6-7 LPA. around 65% of the students get placed and my plan is to get placed in a good company or do masters.
Fees and Financial Aid
The semester fee is 2 lakh per semester which is 4 lakh per year and you have to pay one time fee of 75000 during admission in which the college provides you with a laptop and course books (65000 for laptop and 10000 for books and counselling). For courses other than CSE and CSE specialization the semester fee may vary from 175K to 190K per semester. The college also provides scholarship for students who come under 1000 rank in KIITEE which is of around 10K per month.
Campus Life
The college does very well in social aspects as there are many things to explore from clubs and societies like dance singing robotics and many more to professional sports and many technical and cultural fests. Its very good for overall personality developement and learning and refining ones skills. Some fests happen every month . Library is huge and a huge range of books are available and accessible. Classrooms are facilitated with new technologies. many sport facilities are available and accessible and KIIT is famous for its soports facilities. there are many basketball cricket badminton tennis volleyball courts and swimming pools and many more and there are coaches too.
Hostel Facilities
Room provided in hostel is good overall. you will be provided with a bed and a mattress, a bucket , pillow and 2 sets of bedsheet and pillow cover and a blanket. You will have a table and a chair and a cupboard and also some space too keep things inside the bed and a socket above the table and there will be 2 fans and ac if you opt for ac room. Food quality is good and in menu some days are better than other days. You will be alloted your hostel at the time of reporting and the cost is not so high and it depends on what type of room you opt for ac, non ac or premium.
Admission
I chose this college for its large and green infrastructure and its rich coding envionment, its crowd, its curriculum, and its very good sports facilities as i am very interested in sports. I also applied for other colleges but i got rejection from some and i found that KIIT is better than some other colleges i applied for and it has a lenient envionment so you can enjoy your college life with studies. The admission process is very simple. You can get admission in two ways one is from JEE and other from KIITEE and after KIITEE you have to apply for counselling online and both KIITEE exam and counselling are free. after that if you get your course you have to pay 75K for seat confirmation which is the fee of laptop and books and also the counselling fee. after that you have to pay the semester and hostel and mess fee if you are opting for hostel and then you will get the reporting date and you have to report on that day and you have to fill a form and your ID card will be given to you and your hostel room will be alloted and you will recieve everything on your college Gmail ID which you will receive on your personal mail that you have given earlier.
Faculty
Around 35-40 students are assigned one mentor who guides them and listen to their problems and help them and yes they are very approachable. And about the other faculty members yes they are helpful and approachable. I like our mathematics faculty very much because he is very helpful and teaches very good and also the english faculty and she is my mentor too. There are some faculty whom i can't understand much but they are not at all bad. There wil be assingments and quizes in each subject before midsem exams and then there will be endsem around 2 months after midsem. the exam level is moderate.Course curriculum is up to date and very relevent and there is credit based grading which means every subject has certain amount of credit and the more credit the subject has the more its contribution in CGPA or SGPA.
