KIIT : A Student Perspective

I took CSE as my main course. Actually it's in high demand and the scope is very high in this field. In future this course is going to play more important role in development. Actually our 1st curriculum is mostly theoretical but from 2nd semester you will have to face a lot of practicals. I don't have the qualifications to suggest in the area of development but I think students should be taught subjects which would enhance their skills . Every 2 months you will get a main exam and in that 2 month time period ther will be some test and assessment.

Actually I am a fresher so I don't have much knowledge regarding internship and companies offering internship in my college. But here in 3rd semester you must have completed 2 internship for better placements. Companies provides internship with good stipend. You can also take help from your faculty and mentor for better recommendation in a company for intership.

After 3rd Semester students become eligible for campus placements. Actually I don't know much about placements since it's my first semester in this college/University but I know above 500 companies visit in KIIT and maximum students get places with good packages. Highest package - 54 LPA Average package - 6-7 LPA More than 80-85 % students get places I am planning for an off-campus or on-campus placements with package above 20LPA.

Year wise fee - 400000 ( For CSE, IT). It includes development fee and lab fee. Exam registration fee - 1000 per exam Laundary fee - 10000 per year Extra admission and registration fee - 90000 For other courses it is 192000 and less KIITEE top 1000 scholarship - 10000 per month Fees may increase next year.

Recently our freshers got conducted by college via 2nd year students. We get to see various jamming activities rather often. Each year we get to celebrate our college fest. Our Central Library is the best place for those who want a peaceful environment with every type of books and journals. Like our Library have everything we need and everything we want. Classrooms are of good quality. Teaching is done through LED TV or White board as per teacher needs. Sports facilities are best quality. You can learn and sports you are interested in . There are various Sports facilities with their respective fields which also include various indoor games. There are various extracurricular activities going on in our campus like hakathon and racing and many other things which you will be get informed about. There are many societies each representing their respective fields. Student portal provides every information a student want regarding their college life. These societies and clubs offer students to expand their perspective and enhance their social life.

Hostel facility is very good. My room have an ac and 2 fans. It have a 3 cupboard since I live in three bedded room. It also have 3 tables and chair and beds with matress and pillow. Food quality is also good. We get to eat different types of food every day. Like no food gets repeated in a week. You will be provides with both veg ( every day ) and non veg ( 4 days a week ) food. For registration in hostel you have to apply during admission which you will get informed about via officials. Yeah it's quite affordable. 3 bedded non AC - 56000 per year + 45000 mess fee per year 3 bedded AC - 100000 per year + 45000 mess fee per year 2 bedded AC - 120000 per year + 45000 mess fee per year

I applied to KIIT and VIT and I got confirmation of admission from both colleges but I was not getting my expected course in VIT so I decided to join KIIT. I got accepted in KIIT with CSE as my branch but in VIT due to low score in their entrance exam i was being offered Mechanical and CSE specialisation which I didn't want that's why I decided to join KIIT with CSE Core. After passing KIITEE with marks above 80 percentile you can get CSE in the college. Your 12th marks should be above 60%. KIIT also accepts students on the basis of their JEE mains exam. My overall admission experience was good.

Faculty members are good and approachable. they can be your friend if you want ..like they can help you solve most of your problem. For every 35 student a faculty is appointed. Actually I am in my first semester so I only got to know 2 mentors and they are very nice. Whenever I have any doubt aur problem I discuss it with my mentor and he helps clear that doubt or solve the problem. Every 2 weeks there is a mentor meeting with students. There are mainly 2 exams which are important - Mid sem exam ( 20 marks ) - End sem exam ( 50 marks ) Rest 30 marks belongs to practical, assignment, internal assessment and viva. Each subject have their own credit. Exam syllabus is mainly from courses we are thought and have a moderate difficulty level.
