Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum provide extra course like Naan muthalvan and the curriculum is updated. The curriculum don't help much with real world applications. For example, the teach me python programming as theory but not how to write a code for creating self-made application. The course should add more small project and more lab work. The teaching should include more modern method. I am saying this because our engineering college doesn't allow us to bring phones on campus. That is, they don't tell us how to properly utilise our phone for education. The semester exam is for 3 hr. The exam has ten 2 mark questions and five 13 mark questions and one 16 mark question. This is same for all subject. The exam has it's own challenges, but more exams we write the better we are at managing the time. It's usually moderate level difficulty but sometimes the questions are very difficult for problematic papers. I find theory papers easier . And lab + theory are exams that has less arrear percentage.

Internships Opportunities

2

I have not taken part in the internship provided by the college. The college provided a internship to all students of my department with a company called Baytech. This company provided the students with internship course on python and PowerBi. The students paid 3500 for this. They students who participated told they could not properly understand the teaching. I was still good. We have done a mini project on ai in retail . The project report was submitted to Naan muthalvan portal online .

Placement Experience

2

From 7th semester we are eligible for placement. As Ai is a new department we have no past history of campus selection. The cse department had different companies each year for placement. My senior who in here 7th semester has not received a single placement from college. I am not very knowledgeable about this. Some seniors , who already graduated, had placement from companies from Hyderabad, Chennai . The percentage of students getting placement is getting lower each year. It also depends on department. I plan to get a stable job for 2 yr in India then go to Japan and work there along with studies if possible. I would like to work in the field of augmented reality and virtual reality if possible else in data analytics.

Fees and Financial Aid

Association fund -2500 College day fund -3300 Farewell day fund- 300 Insurance payment -200 Placement and training -5000 Fee collection - 40000 per semester College bus - 4000 for hostelers Hostel fee- 5000 per month Examination fee-250 per subject. Counselling is provided for tamil students. Scholarship for Kerala students are not properly managed. For every program like Christmas and onam, money is collected by department. First graduate scholarship are provided for native students. Admission fee is 10,000

Campus Life

3

The annual college day along with culturals and intercollege day is usually held during the month of Jan - March (even semester). The name of the annual day is Mar fest . We have no books to refer for ai curriculum. But each department have there own department library. There are about 100 journals in the library. Only one text is available for reference is there is any. The projector is not working within the classroom . We have slanding bench, chairs, black board, duster and call in our class room . That is all. The college encourage sports and other extracurricular activities. There is no proper training facility but supportive faculty. The department support all extracurricular activities like symposium. I have won some competition within and outside college. There is time for practice for students. No social groups or club are run by students. Teachers take care all this activity. There is no student committee. The students are just kept for show. They are mainly asked to focus on studies.

Hostel Facilities

4

The girl hostelers are staying in a hostel outside the campus that has no connection with the college. The hostel we stay in is run by nuns. It is convent+ women's hostel. We have students from other colleges as well as working women. The early warden provided is with bad food which we complain to the college and the college told they can't do anything about it. The food is good now because the wardens period was over and a new warden came. The hostel asked for 7500 for first month then onwards the other month, the fees was 5000 per month. The locality is not safe according to me. I will not move and rent a room in this area. And parents will never allow it. The people here are more traditional thinkers , the objectives women. This is based on comparing with my locality at home .

Admission

I had applied to vit but choose not to go because the fees and accommodation was not financially possible for me . I wrote keem exam and got admission to a college, VimalJyoti but as I had already joined this college with admission fee payed. I choose this college because this college was nearer compared to other colleges I applied to to and the fees was affordable. I applied to Saintgits College via keem but I got rejected. Other students with lower rank than me got accepted. After looking this up I found we needed to register directly with the college other than keem registration . I was almost easily accepted. I got recommended by a graduated student and got admission. I paid 10000 rs for admission.

Faculty

5

The faculty are very friendly with the students. They are always available for students. Benisha Ma'am, I like the fact that she is very friendly with students. Shinny Ma'am, she encourage me for extracurricular activities. Dhanya Ma'am, she helps in research topics and project. Shobhana Ma'am, we can speak freely to her. She helps with extracurricular activities like symposium. I don't like the faculty at the office. The are very rude and lazy. But not all. Mainly two , a sir and a lady . We have 2 internal exam ,1 model exam and semester exam per semester. The exams are moderate. It's depends on the students. Till last semester most of the students where all clear but this semester there are few who had 1 or 2 subject arrear. There are students who have very bad arrear list but that is because of the students behaviour and enthusiasm. I feel the curriculum is update and upto date incase of theory. But students need more practical work experience.

Specific schedule is not followed in college regarding the academic and co curricular activities. Sudden decisions will be taken by the management which is a bit difficult for the students and faculty too. There were times where faculties are fed up of management rules and decisions.
