Remarks

KIIT is known to be a nice college in terms of facilities and infra. Coming to education, yes they do provide better education than other private colleges in east India. ... Education is good, for which students are able to clear top placements like Microsoft, Amazon and SAP labs with a good handy packages.

Placement Experience

4.5

The present scenario of placements in KIIT is quite good but less in number than previous year. It is not like that companies are not visiting the campus. They are visiting but taking students in less number than previous year.(Not for all companies, generally mass recruiters). That’s why some students are still unplaced. If I talk about CSE/IT, placements are good in this branch as compared to all other branches. Students of these branch are allowed to sit in almost all of the companies except core companies. Also, many software giant companies for these branch students visited this year with good package. Examples include Microsoft, Dell, Barclays,SAP( with full time employment) and Amazon, Intel, HP-R&D, VMWare(Internship with PPO). Students of CSE/IT branch are almost placed. If I talk about other branches then they are also placed and some of them are in the process of getting placed(Don’t have much idea about core branches). As companies are still visiting the campus, one will get many opportunities to get placed. Companies of all variety visited this year and are still visiting. Be it Software Giant like Microsoft, Mass Recruiters (Accenture, Cognizant, Wipro, Infosys, IBM) and start-ups. However, if you have good knowledge and can communicate well then you will end up getting placed. Yes college provide internship.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Expensive. The fees always increases . At my time tution fees was 110000 hostel fees was 17500 and mess fess was 15000( which is compulsory). And now it’s like tutuion fee itself is 140000. You will have to pay a amount of 75–80k at the time of admission which is the charge of laptop and caution money. ( bucket mattress and rest of the things) For exact fee detail i recommend you to contact any official of kiit.

Fees and Financial Aid

No. Officially KIIT wont provide you loans for semester fees. But on your counselling day, several bank executives will be there in the campus to assist you for the education loan. You can get the details from them for the education loan. Most bank sanction at max 60% of your annual fees. Rest you can google it for the education loan details. :)

Campus Life

Is KIIT a good college in terms of education and faculty? In terms education and faculty, yes. I am a civil engineering pass out from the university, class of 2014. So I can talk broadly about my department and can assure you that others are quite similar. The faculty pool consists of experienced professors as well as fresh post graduates generally from IITs or other reputed colleges. So, on paper the faculty is as good as it can get. The flip side here, though, is your capability to extract knowledge out of them. Because frankly speaking, in stark contrast to the quality of the faculty memebers, the quality of students being admitted has degraded. The attitude towards classes and exams has taken a toll, partly because of the comfortable luxurious life that the college offers, an partly because of the degrading mentality and the carefree approach towards academics. This new age trend of bunking classes and even exams has eaten up the generation, the consequences of which, combined with the ever compeitive environment, creates problems for quite a lot of students after passing out. And the teachers have come to terms with this, as, while earlier they used to run behind students to be sincere, now they too have adopted a laid back attitude, attending only those who are genuinely interested in the subject. So, yes, the faculty is good, but you need to protect yourself from the KIITian's fad and spend those four years doing what you have been sent here to do.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes they were helpful sometime. Susam Pal, He was my senior in KIIT. I passed out in 2007. He left KIIT few years before me. He single-handedly changed the face of the KIIT intranet by creating the first intranet portal of KIIT that he used to run from his hostel room. I think it was named MAZE which was like a little Facebook for KIITians. Back in 2003-2007 time campus placement was not great in KIIT, but he was an inspiration to the juniors. We spent many hours on his portal to download videos, chat with other hostel mates and also learn a lot of technical stuff from the weekly quizzes on his portal. Anyone remember the Winpopup chatting that allowed various hostels to connect and chat all night? It created so much traffic that it used to bring the intranet infrastructure down. Susam was the person behind all of this. He also designed and built the first ever internally created microprocessor of KIIT. The report he wrote for the microprocessor project was used as instruction manual by our VLSI professor (Anil Patro) for many future batches. We followed his manual and learnt to design our own microprocessor.

I’ve been blessed, and i’ve never really had a bad and outrageous teacher. Most of my teachers have been incredible. They’ve been kind, patient, loving, and they genuinely care about your well-being. They are really good and very helpful.

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
