Likes
- The hostel and mess are amazing. we get good accomodation plus good food
- Security which is often question for kashmir but in nit srinagar there is tight security which is good for students
- Teacher are highly educated and give real life experience while teaching.
Dislikes
- Classroom tables are so aching they are not comfortable which must be replaced as while u give 2 hours lecture itz so hurting
- Restriction of going out. Here are many restriction we cant go out after 7 pm it seems like a boarding school
- Exams which are very often and events are so boring
Course Curriculum Overview
In first year we get normal courses that are related to 11 and 12th class that are not useful for courses but i think that is only to make student feel we have entered in College From second year every branch get there respective courses which they need for their branch From 2nd year we feel that we are engineers as we deal with real life problems as beams columns buildings bridges etc Since some teachers read from ppt and translate that to us which must be avoided We get were frequent exams which sucks
Internships Opportunities
For my course company like ambuja and local companies like cement and building contructions give interships opportunities to students also college provide some intership opportunity in winters. Roles are usually lower like management and data entry type
Placement Experience
From 7th semester student become eligible for placements Here many companies visit mostly L&T, wipro , and many other Highest pakage was offered to cse student with 39LPA in year 2023 while average is 10LPA Here percentage goes more than 100% as shown on college website I would prefer placement or any govt job
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee for btech courses is 206000 per annum including hostel and mess for general students with above 5lakh income while for reserved categories it is less or no fee depending upon the category Like some of my friends have only 2000 rs while others have none of it. For general students there is no schlorship but for other categories there are many schlorships including nsp.
Campus Life
Two events are held every year in this college rang e chinar a cultural fest and techvaganza a tech fest according to college brochures but only 1 of them happens in a year reason unknown. Library have good sources of all books and journals but library space is so small it is often full with few no. Of student in it. Ther are good air ventilation and smart boards as far class are well provide with latest technology. Sports activities are partial preferred and some are delayed and there are many extra curricular activities.
Hostel Facilities
We have good hostel but in every room we have 1 room for 6 students which makes them over crowded. There are available LAN, heating , fans, personal lockers, Meals are good some days and some days that are waste rating 6/10 At time of Admission you will get allocated hostel and mess facilities also For pg or rent it is college area and tourist spot also here you can get very easily the desired room.
Admission
I had applied for Kashmir university. I had applied there as i thought i wont get selected in nit. I also got confirmation form from that college as my jee percentile was 96%. I choose this college as nit have more fame then other state College No i didn't get any rejection Admission of our college depends on JEE percentile and JOSAA rules
Faculty
Faculty are were resposible They are always giving you helping hand whenever you need My course includes engineering maths Building and materials structure analysis theory and lab surveying theory and lab Fluid theory and lab Best faculty for maths is shakeel sir he is friendly and teaches math as simple as a b c. He has art of teaching in fun way In a year there are 4 exams two midterms and two endterms concluding two semisters in a year
