Remarks

The positive thing about MITACSC is the faculties. The college organizes a bunch of technical and social events which helps the students grow socially. The college also conducts classes for the students appearing for UPSC/MPSC. The negative thing, I will say is, the college doesn't encourage technical workshops and events on a big scale as it does on the other things.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

It's a bachelor course. In the first year, you have four subjects, physics, chemistry, mathematics and electronics. In the second year the students can drop one subject but they will have to select one from the foundational courses. The curriculum is well set, it's decided by Savitribai Phule Pune University. The exams for the first year is conducted through an annual pattern. And from the second year, it's the semester system.

Placement Experience

3.5

MITACSC has very good placement opportunities. Various well known industries come for the placements. And the packages are also very attractive. The best placements among all the departments is of the BBA(CA). The college doesn't provide any internships.

College Events

2.5

Apart from various cultural and religious events, the college organizes Tech-fest, IT fest, Science week, Technical workshops, etc. Apart from all these, the college has it's own annual event Kshitij. It's a two day event. Dances, fashion shows, musical nights, signing event. And there's also award ceremony event by the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is feasible. For my course,BSc.(Regular) its 35000 for the first year. For the second and third also it's around 35-40K. The fees are a bit more compared to other colleges in Pune.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is a government scholarship for the financially backward students or the students under the OBC/SC/ST category. I haven't avail anu scholarship as I don't come under any of these categories. The college doesn't have any scholarship of it's own.

Campus Life

2.5

The labs are really good. In fact, I'll say more than good. The labs are really well maintained. I personally really enjoy working in the physics and electronics lab. The college also held various sports events. The college has a ground of its own. It's not that big, but it's good. The college has a good number of students performing in sports on state and national levels.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

The college doesn't have the hostel facility. You have to go for private hostels. Private hostels are available nearby the college campus. They charge around 3000-3500 per month. The infrastructure of almost all the hostels are good.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are very helpful and friendly. They have helped us a lot during the events and exams. Sharing my personal experience, the seniors have helped me in lab manuals, events, project making, sports events. The best I liked is , the seniors really encourage the students to go for sports events, to appear for UPSC/MPSC exams and other government exams.

Faculty

3.5

The college faculties are really good. They are very friendly. Apart from the classroom interaction the teachers also help in other things. I'm a non-marathi, it's been just one year in MITACSC, but now I so feel that I belong here. I really liked the teaching method of the faculties. The teachers help me in everything and we have created such a beautiful bond. My teachers have guided me in everything the whole time.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Biotechnology because it is a multidisciplinary field. We get to study not only topics related to biotechnology but also biochemistry, bio physics, bio informatics, bio statistics, etc. Mostly everything that is essential for future exams is taught during the span of 3 years. The topics of the units are taught in depth but the questions asked during exams are comparatively easy as to what all we studied. The frequency of the exam is, 1 internal exam which consists of both mcqs and written exam, the semester exam for each semester and practical exams for each subject. If u have studied then you will be able to attempt the questions.

Placement Experience:

My college gives campus placement placement opportunities typically after 4th semester, which is the 2nd half of the 2nd year. As my college has a partnership with IBM so the standards of campus placement go right up as the placement depends on the curriculum performance of the student so can't really say much for this. If saying as a stalemate, getting a placement is basically confirmed if the student maintains his/her CGPA of 6-7, which shows the consistent of the student in their field.
