My thoughts on our beloved Sidho Kanho Birsha University.

The curriculum of our university is very relevant to our growth and academic wellness. The curriculum offers us to cope with several areas of the educational journey to a successful carrier . The regular mock test and viva sessions prepare us for the industrial palecments. Also the classes for the special exams for net or gate for PhD , provide us the encouragement to peruse higher studies in the field.

The campus placement of our university is quite good and it is getting better day by day. Especially our chemistry department is doing great in this field. Last year our dept almost hit 100% placements and the highest package was of 5 lpa. I am planning to peruse my PhD after MSc.

As a student of Sidho Kanho Birsha University, Purulia I can say that the fees is pretty much affordable. • The fees for the whole year is 6000/- for the two semesters of our masters program in chemistry. • The fees is almost same for all the courses in the university for the masters program ( Except the self financed courses). • The self financed courses have fees structure of near about 20000/- per semester. • The students of our university who are below the income range of 3lakh 80thousad get a scholarship called svmcm. Not for only our university all the govt universities students get this scholarship. • The scholarship give us 30000/- per year with some criteria. • Also the students from sc/st category gets extra support to carry out their studies. • Almost me and all my batchmates meet all the criteria and enjoy the scholarship for our studies. So I can say that our university is pretty much affordable and if one gets the scholarship then the masters program will be a joyful ride for him/her.

Life in our university during our program is very enjoyable. We enjoyed a lot during our university fests, in our canteen. We studied a lot in our university Library. The central Library is huge and have very good ambience. The big play group in the middle of the university gives students more encouragement for the sports. I have to mention that our annual sports meet is a charming and heart beating experience for all the viewers.

The main reason behind choosing the Sidho Kanho Birsha University is to peruse my masters in chemistry from my home university which I am more habitual to. I persued my bachelor's from the same university and my home town is nearby from the university so these are the main reasons for choosing this university. Amoung several universities i applied for I got selection from Vidyasagar University and burdwan university. And because these colleges are away from my home town so I choose my home university over these . Yes I got rejection from the IIT Kharagpur. I didn't make it to there because my mark for the qualification for this university was not upto the mark. My university gives admission to students in behalf of their marks in the bachelor's degree. There is two quota , one is for home students and one is for outside university students. I got the seat in home students category. The cutoff was 82.5% for the admission to chemistry masters program in our university.

Sidho Kanho Birsha University got success in many fields of research and industrial palecments. And I think the most important key player is our respectable professors. The faculty to student ratio in our university is quite good . I think the ratio will be 1:10 . And that's a pretty good number I think . Dr. Anup Pramanik of our chemistry dept is the favourite professor of mine. He was always there for me in my journey in this university. There is no professor whom I not liked . All of them are my pathfinders. There is 2 exams per year ... In more details 2 semester in a year. This is the curriculum of exams for all the depts in our university. And the curriculum is very relevant to us with a high success rate in the exams .

Yes we have facilities like gym , cafe, canteen in the university premises. But night life is not that observable to us. The university doors are locked at the nights because the ladies hostel is in the university and boys hostel is outside.
