- I personally liked the teaching staff most of them are friendly.
- I also liked the library because it is actually one of the biggest library a college can have.
- All the classrooms and labs have AC's and the environment is very comfortable.
Dislikes
- They don't give access to the campus for morning batch students however evening students have access
- Morning students mostly have classes with small breaks and evening students have particular breaks for lunch
- Practical subject teachers are indulged in completing the syllabus mostly
Course Curriculum Overview
I had some seniors of my school who came in this college as I got to know from them the environment is friendly. You can join societies and attend inter college events which helps you grow. However something's can be improved like giving access to campus and giving breaks in between.
Fees and Financial Aid
Course fee for B.Com morning and evening is the same which is 28000 per semester as per 2024 in Shri Shikshayatan College which a very renowned college under the University of Calcutta. Other courses - B.Sc economics - 22000 approx BBA - 29000 approx. Minimum of 50% is required to take addmission in this college for B.Com course. Other courses may vary.
Campus Life
Campus Life is missing for morning students atleast but when there are events we are allowed to go and attend them. The library is so huge you can alnost find any book you want inside there. Various sections are made and you can choose what ever you want. Computer classrooms are also good. Sports and club activities take place and you can apply and get selected.
Admission
I almost applied to all the colleges in Calcutta and Delhi University for B.com. I also got approved in most of them as I also gave the CUET exam. But as I earlier said it is based on you as to what type of environment did u want so I chose this college because it is friendlier and you can ask for help if you need any.
Faculty
The faculty to students ratio however is approachable to an extent. I like the minor subject teacher more because they make it easy for us to understand. The major subject teachers are stressed because there's too much syllabus and so less time. Exams which are taken in the college are very easy as they give us hints as to what will come and what not also the paper is pretty easy if you study enough.
Night Life
There's gym on the fourth floor. We don't have personal hostels but there are various PG around the college. Hangout places include several cafe's in walking distance and street food is very delicious. You can also eat at the college canteen. It is very safe around the college as it is a girls college in Kolkata and it has h metro in 5 minutes distance.
