What Students Say
Likes
- The Placement Cell is great. They do an amazing job at getting the top recruiter in the industry during the placement drive for the students. The committee does their work thoroughly before committing to any priorities.
- The Faculty plays an important role when choosing a college and the ones here are pretty good. From their way of making lesson plans to their mode of teaching, they excel in all aspects that are necessary for the growth of the student while learning.
- Academics is not the only thing that a student needs to excel at and the Cultural Committee comes at play from then on. The Cultural Committee was one of its kind, organising great events for students to enjoy and learn from.
Dislikes
- Academically speaking, there was no studies being conducted outside the classroom. For example, the were close to no industrial visits that were conducting during my term at the institution.
- Compared to the facilities offered, the fees should’ve been considerably lowered.
- Maintenance of the Academic building was an issue. During the time that I studied there, out of 4 elevators atleast one of them would not be working for a considerable amount of time.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum was well desing and segrated into many areas giving a good understanding of what we were being taught rather than just memorising it all for the exams. The frequency of exams was at a relaxed pace giving us ample amount of time to study for each of them thoroughly. the difficulty level was perfect too, enough to keep us on toes while being able to understand what we are studying for the exam.
Internships Opportunities
There are many companies that offer internships with stipend with a various range of roles depending of what stream the student is studying in as well as the specialisation the students have opted for.
Placement Experience
From Semester 5, students become eligible for Campus placements. There were many companies that visited suck as TCS and Deloitte. The highest package offered was INR 800000 per annum and the average was INR 450000 per annum. I am preparing to pursue a Masters in Business Administration degree after getting my current degree and am currently preparing for the entrance exams the are coming up.
Fees and Financial Aid
The year wise basic fee including the Compulsory charges was INR 80000, and the complete course fees was INR 240000. As I had enrolled into an Honours Program, I had the choice for and additional subject as my minors which was optional and I was charged separately for it. I had chosen a minor in mass communication and journalism which costed INR 30000 for the complete course. Apart from B.Com Hons, there were other courses too, some were charging about INR 10000 more annually such as B.Com with a specialisation in Accounting and Finance. If you fail in a subject and have an ATKT, then you have to pay separately per Exam. For example, you are charged INR 500 per exam. I believe that the fees have increased about INR 10000 annually from the last time that I paid my fees for my final year.
Campus Life
The most prominent Cutural Festival that was conducted annually was called Lehar the took place in the month of March usually. The books and journals that were available ranged from fiction to self help to text books and many more covering most of the sections. An important thing to mention here is the virtual library were you are able to get the soft copies of many books as well. The essential technology eas available in the classrooms. They were equipped with projectors that have basically become a necessity in today's day and world. The campus spanned into many acres so there were multiple clubs available to join for students as well as having access to many sports ranging from but not limited to Cricket, football, tennis, swimming, badminton and many more.
Admission
I chose my current college as it was one of the top ranking ones for the list that I got selected into. I had applies to Hinduja as well which I unfortunately did not get admitted to. For the admission process, all you need to do is fill a form online with all the required information and pay a non refundable application fee. I you fulfil the criteria and are eligible, then you may get the opportunity for admission. After that confirm your documents physically by verifying them on campus before the completion of the admission procedure. During my time of admission, the parameters had to be changed and many changed were introduced due to special circumstances caused by the pandemic of Covid-19.
Faculty
The faculty to student relationship was amazing. They were always available to help us, be it off the clock or on. They were very approachable. A lot of faculties had a great impact on me. To name a few, some were Bhavna Patil, Bharati Makhijani, Shruti Chavarkar, and Deepak Chavan. The course curriculum was very relevant to the tine that it was being taught. There were a total of 12 exams that were conducted. 6 were End Semester exams and 6 were half semester exams. This was relevant to the marking scheme.
Night Life
There is an in-house gym that is equipped with basic equipment. There is atleast a cafeteria in each of the colleges that are on campus giving students a wide range of options to choose from. There are multiple hostel options available to choose from and you need to return before 11:00 p.m. as that is the closing time. There are a few prominent hagout spots such as thr gaming parlour right outside the campus, or if you are looking for something in-campus then there is the maggi house which serves delicious maggi with a piping hot cup of coffee that surprising pairs well with it.
