- Overall infrastructure of the campus is really great, I was a mechanical engineering student so the labs related to my course were really good. The labs had variety of machines, engines and experimental setup needed for practicals.
- Professor's are really knowledgeable and helpful. Most of them were really friendly towards students.
- Sports facilities such as football turf and cricket ground are good. Although students can't use the cricket ground
Dislikes
- Overall attitude of teachers towards students is not good. Especially branches other than mechanical.
- Some teachers used to keep personal grudge with students and deliberately reduce their internal marks.
Course Curriculum Overview
I really love automobiles, that was the main reason behind my decision to opt for mechanical engineering.Most of the aspects about machines and engis where covered as part of the subject. One who want to learn more about a subject has the opportunity to opt for minor in that subject.
Internships Opportunities
There are a lot of placements for the IT department. IT companies such as Cognizant, TCS, Wipro...ect comes for recruitment. But other branches such as Mechanical, civil, electrical students are doomed. Placements are almost zero and internship opportunities offered are a scam.
Fees and Financial Aid
For government merit students the fees is 85k yearly and a donation of 1 lakh during admission. For SC,ST students there are fees concessions. Also there are no extra fee for lab and all, these are included in the 85k. Other than that there is a fee for exam registration paid to the university.
Campus Life
There are annual Arts fest, sports fest and tech fest events. Other than these events there are lost of functions of the various houses. Arts fest is called 'Bharatham' and is the most prestigious of all and is conducted for 3 days. Then there are various student groups which students could join and be a part of their works and events.
Admission
I have applied for multiple colleges but my first option was always Rajagiri school of engineering and technology. I have joined that place because it has a good reputation in kerala. It was known for its state of the art teaching and lab facilities. Also the pass percentage and rank holders numbers are in the top 3 among private colleges.
Faculty
There is a class teacher and an assistant teacher assigned to each division of the branch. The faculty I liked the most was Athul sir who's teaching advanced machinery subject, the reason I like him is because of his friendly attitude towards the students. There are 8 semesters and the courses are allocated by KTU the syllabus is a bit outdated. The pass percentage is quite low at a 55% mark
Night Life
There is a gym facility run by the college in the campus premises itself. The facility is affordable but lacks the equipments. Library is really good student could use it freely for their academic aswell as personal use. Canteen is present, it provides decent food but it's mostly crowded. Hostel entry is allowed till 6.30 pm inthe evening students should get inside the hostel before this time.
