IIT KGP: The kgpian way

Per sem is about 4 months Autumn sem There are holidays like durga puja It is the most hectic sem. Spring sem All the fest like khsitij and spring fest are in there so its fun. Course curriculum is hard relative to any other colleges course. You need to study hard to be in top positions. Exam timings are so hectic once the season if exam started then there is no going back. Like every week you are going to have 2 class test or quiz before mid sem or end sem.

Cdc internship are offered to all the big companies with varies profile so you are not limited to a specific thing. The minimum stipend is 50000rs and there is no upper limit, it is upto you how much you are going to get. Internship could be on-site or remote.

4 yr btech students are eligible for cdc internship from the starting of their 3rd yr(5th sem) and for placement 7th sem. 5 yr dual degree students are eligible for cdc internship from the starting of 4th yr(7th sem) and for placement 9th sem. So many different profile companies came for placements like amazon, google, ibm, apple, l&t, wipro, infosys, texas intrument, etc. Highest package was 3cr and average is about 20-25 lakhs. For general/obc Per sem 100000rs tutition fees 30000rs hostel fees + some other fees For sc/st Per sem 30000rs-35000rs So many scholarships are available you just need to apply for it and there may be a short interview that it.

Overall its the best campus for me, i got to meet so many good people made best memories. Best time starts at fest when there are events, shows, concerts, etc. There is a techno-management fest called khsitij there all the events are around tech so a techy will find it more interesting. And the iconic fest spring fest the cultural fest is the pride of kgp. So much to explore so much to learn here. There are about more than 30 student run clubs, societies, fest, etc. So many options to choose from. There are seperate complexes for sports and there are sports ground and many sports option to choose. Overall its the best life you are going to have here.

Hostels are old but have sufficient facilities which are required. Mess food are good someday and worst the same. Hostel fees is included in the sem fee and there is registration only the 1st time you enter here. All the student have to stay in campus if you want to stay outside you need to take permission.

I didnt apply for any other colleges or write any exam. I was only focussed on jee. I got this colleges based on jossa counselling, i dont have any college to go in, i just wanted to go in any IIT and when i got IIT KHARAGPUR, i was too happy.

Faculty to student ratio is about 150-200 Faculties are so good and approachable they will listen to you. You can approach them whenever you need them. They will encourage you to participate in events like any hackathon, case study, etc. And you can approach them for this also. They will be more than happy to help you.

To take admission here you have to go through hectic preperation for the exam because there is only one way to come in as a UG from JEE Advance . There are others courses also for that you need to clear different exams according to what you opted for.

The real life starts here from night, when you go with your friends on nightout and then at 2am you go to night canteens thats the joyable part. There are no timing for halls it is open everytime and no restrictions on entry. Famous hangout place can be lake side, sup dup, hjb, nalanda(at night), 2.2,etc
