Course Curriculum Overview
The relevance of the curriculum to the present industry trend is pretty good. The subjects are well chosen. The curriculum takes us from a 0 level knowledge about the course to a complete naval architect.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are for 2nd and 3rd year students. First years have internship facilities at department lab itself. Internships are done at some of the best companies during 2nd and 3rd year. Let it be a classification society or ship yard.
Placement Experience
It had been 100% placement in my deparyment for the past many years. The students are placed in some of the best companies in the industry. The initial salary package is not very bad also. The palacement is pretty succesful in the department.
Fees and Financial Aid
Semester fee-18000 Extra fee will sum up to 1500 a year Hostel fee-500 Mess fee- 2700 on average Being a student from gener category, i domt avail any scholarships or government benefits. I pay the fee sum as a whole.
Campus Life
There are a lot of events occuring in the college from large concerts as part of welcoming the freshers to hostel fests and department level events. Sporsy is also pretty actuve in the campus. Overall experience is great.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities are good. Only 400 rupees is to be payed as hostel rent. The facilities are not great but pretty good for our 4 year stay. Host is alloted according to the distance from home to college. Reservations are also considered. Food quality is average.
Admission
The one reason i chose CUSAT is because it had my course(B.Tech in Naval Architecture and Ship Building). This is a rare and unique course with very good job oppirrunities upon completion. The placement rates are also good for this course in CUSAT.
Faculty
Like any other college, we have some really good proffessors and not very good ones. The curriculum is pretty well designed. And academic part is easy. A days preparation would help us get pass marks in exam.
Night Life
Night life is great for boys as they have to curfew restrictions. Cochin is a city whoch is perfect for night life. There are great food spits to hang out with friends at night. Night life is also great at CUSAT.
