Remarks
This is one of the top 5 private college in west bengal and one of top seven colleges in west bengal. The students are mainly from west bengal and bihar. Overall my college experience is good. The only bad thing about college is the location. The location is pretty bad. There are canteens which is a good part but there is not any hostel facility.
Course Curriculum Overview
My department is ECE. This college is under MAKAUT university. And this university curriculum really needs a change. In each semester there are two unit test 2-4 assignments. The course curriculum is not latest but average. They need to add some latest topics. There are practicals in each semester and design labs in last semester. I think it should add IOT and arduino and raspberry pi and some software courses. Overall it is pretty good like 3.5* out of 5.
Placement Experience
Placement of ECE is very good this year. Most of us got selected. I think 80 percent students got selected. The companies are intel, TCS, CTS and it other companies, some start ups, Thought works, Bosch, Johnson etc. These came for our department. The core department campussing isn't that good. Our department campussing is 4* out of 5.
College Events
There are many events. There are alumni meets, tech fest for each department, college fest, fresher's events etc. These are pretty awesome. In tech fest there are coding events, electronics events, robot wars etc. In college fest some local band comes each year.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Semester wise 40 to 50k. 1st sem is 45k+. Others are 40k+. Total is 3.5 lakhs approximately. Besides there are exam charges, each sem 1000. Then there are bag and dress charges in first year. With that charge they gave shitty bags and dress. The fees structure is pretty low than other private colleges.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is loan facility from punjab bank which is just near the college. There is tfw or tuition fee waiver for economically backward people. I don't know about any scholarship though. I don't think there is anything like that, provided by college.
Campus Life
Interdepartmental sports are pretty famous here. Besides that there are other indoor sport activities. Our college don't have our own ground though. But there is one under tig. We use that. The labs are old fashioned but good. 3* out of 5 for labs. There are two tech clubs which organize extracurricular activities.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network is not that good and they aren't that helpful. I think college should definitely look into this matter because this will help a lot. We organize alumni meet each year but they are just activities, not helpful ones.
Admission
I gave WBJEE. Then I selected multiple colleges along with this one in counselling. Got selected here in ECE dept. Each college has their cutoff rank. When you can't clear one college cutoff the next college will be selected.
