Remarks
Academy of Technology is overall a good college. The academics and discipline are the major highlights. In certain cases, the rules feel to be quite choking. But if studies are your sole focus and you don't want to get too distracted by the surroundings, then AOT is the place for you.
Course Curriculum Overview
The college is affiliated to MAKAUT, hence follows MAKAUT B.Tech curriculum. There are two theory internal exams, 1 practical internal, 1 practical semester and 1 theory semester exam each semester. The internal exams are conducted by the college itself whereas the semester exams are conducted by MAKAUT. Students are also required to submit 2 term papers for each subject every semester, which carries 10 marks for the final evaluation.
Placement Experience
The college maintains a good placement record in the CSE and ECE departments. The other departments are also progressing their placement percentages. Mechanical department has the lowest placements numbers. The college website provides detailed description of the placement record.
College Events
Firstly, there's the fresher's welcome REGETTA. That's the only event in the odd semester. In the even semester, the annual technical fest TECHFIESTA is held along with the annual cultural fest ARCADIA. And if you happen to live in the college hostels you would also witness the CAMP-FIRE, and the farewell event CONCORDIA.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is in the mid-expensive range. The first semester fees are generally higher than the other semesters. The detailed fee structure is available on college website aot.edu.in . The college also provides fee waiver to some deserving students.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college offers tuition fee waiver to certain selected students on the basis of merit and annual family income. A few banks also provide student loans. The college staff might be able to shed more light on this topic.
Campus Life
The labs are well equipped. If you happen to live in the hostel, you would get enough sporting facilities. I cannot guarantee the same for the day scholars. The annual fest ARCADIA offers a good opportunity for students to showcase their talents Infront of everyone.
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They would surely help you, you just need to ask. Though not everyone is the same. But most people are quite eager to help and let the juniors learn. I have learnt a lot from my seniors
Admission
I got admission through my WBJEE rank via the WBJEE counseling process. Students are required to submit names of colleges as their options before the counseling begins. A rank around 8k- 15k would get you into CSE, 10k -30k in ECE and etc. You can check the previous year trends available online to be sure.
