Course Curriculum Overview

2

Sadly current curriculum i am in doesnt prepare you for real world. They just test you work ethic by forcing you to mug up for exams.exams are long and also can be crowded together to a week or two. Also semesters are too short .So each students don't get enough preparation time. The curriculm gives no exposure the industrues .s Physical education and some changes in the syllabus has been brought in the new schemes .But other things remain unchanged

Fees and Financial Aid

The clg has 4 types of seats.First one is lower fee merit seat which is selected on the basis on keam rank.It costs about 50 -55 k.Then there is higher fee merit seat which also taken on the basis on keam rank.It costs about 85k to 1L.then for nri the fee will more thn 2L.For nri seat it is first come first serve criteria. For those who come as lateral entry(after finishing diploma) need to pay the fee almost same as merit fee structure. So sunming up Merit seat- 50-55 k Higher fee merit- 80 to 1L Lateral entry- 55- 60k Nri- more than 2L The fee has been increasing each year by small amount. The student union has been trying to voice against that throughout these years but no action has been taken by the management.

Campus Life

2

Cult a way is the annual tech fest of sct.Due to the limitation of campus area it is conducted on nisagandhi auditorium. Along with cult a way other programmes like arts , freshers, union day, demo day are also conducted. The above programmes are conducted inside the campus only. Various clubs in the college include ieee, evogen, mekartians, velocetors, cse club etc.other non-engineering clubs are also active like 1. film club 2.music club 3.sct MUN club 4.Fashion club sct 5.under 25 sct 6.fine arts club 7.abrupt dance club From above film club conducts film fest and other campus activities. Fashion club ,abrupt and MUN clubs compete at outside campus tournaments and are very well and actuve. Eventhough there are campus area and infrastructure limitations social aspects and club involvement doesn't diminish with that excuse.

Admission

This is the only govt college having the course biotechnology and biochemical engineering in kerala.Plus it is third ranked in trivandrum after cet and coe barton hills.but comparatively sct and barton hills score almost same except on fees. Barton hills have less fee as it is completely govt affiliated. But comparing other private colleges in the trivandrum district it scores the the top among having an active campus life and student croud.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance. The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies. The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.
