What Students Say

Likes

There is lot of students clubs that we can involve in free times.
Labs are quite good, we can go there at free times and do external works or practice programming.
There is lot of Other non curricular activities we can involve.

Dislikes

No proper maintenance of football ground
Some faculty is unable to teach well, we can't understand anything
Not good for students from othere states. If you don't know malayalam i didn't prefer this college to you

Course Curriculum Overview

Actually our curriculum is not prepares us for real world applications. Course provide some basic things only. We have to learn skills from outside. I suggest to includes project based learning. When we are focusing on skill development there is lot organization is here in our college to help us..

Class Size: 70Course Fees: INR 35000 per year

Placement Experience

They provide placement packages from a minmum of 4lpa to 12 lpa.. But most of the students got 4 lpa packages, it is very difficult to crack higger packages, but most of the cs students got placement andd students of other departments palcement is not good.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our tution fee is 35000, but at admission we have to pay some extra cash. Then we have to pay 51000 ruppes first. Also every year we have to pay some extra fees with tution fees.. Total fees per year is 41000.

Campus Life

There is some student-run organisation like tinker hub, ulearn, gdc etc... We can improve our skills with this groups. Sports activities are also quite. Arts clubs like dance club,music club, film club are good.

Admission

It is second best college in kollam. College Infrastructure and facilities are good. There placements are also fine. Also college have good environment and sports grounds (badminton court, football court , wolly ball court, basketball Court )

Faculty

There is enough faculties are there. Most of the facilities are friendly with us we can approach them any time they will help us. In a semester there 3 exams 2 internal and a university exam. In our college most of the cs students not have supplies.

Night Life

Night life is not good. Actually college will close before 6 pm. Gym is not good because there is a few equipment only. Library facility is great there is big library is there and they provide a calm atmosphere there

OUR COLLEGE LIFE

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

If you want to be in a controlled environment, focus on academics, make use of some good placement opportunities, and get somewhere career-wise I would be suggesting Amrita University.
