College campus must be maintained more carefully and college authority have to pay attention toward it.as it have very beautiful campus lacking management. College education standard is becoming better and better year by year which is a good sign.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is moderate being an autonomous college it set its own syllabus under aicte approved courses. Course being of 4 year it have 8 semester 2 semester in each year of course in month of december and may every year.

College fee is minimal here but if student need scholarship then college also provide that to needy students many alumni sponsored scholarship program is there for students can avail or student can also fill form of tuition fees wavier also to get half or full concession in fees.
Campus Life
Extracurricular activities have long never ending list here including both indoor and outdoor games. college have 2 cricket ground one volleyball court one basketball court.football ground is also there.inside hostel there is table tennis court and carrom board and badminton court hostel wise.
Hostel Facilities
There are 5 hostel each for students of each year and one girls hostel where girls students of every year live. Hostel condition is satisfactory and clean Almost 200 students live in each hostel. Food provided here is also good bathroom and toilets are cleaned properly hostel fee is 12-13 k per semester including fooding and living
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network of the college is good as the college was established in 1961 and many of the alumni are in very good position in different organizations.they help students in making them ready for industries. alumni organise innovation challenge and annual meet in College which is immensely helpful.
Admission
To get admission in this college one has to pass wbjee entrance exam which is conducted by wbjee board.and have to secure a good rank upto 10000 then after result is published in may end or june first week one has to sit for counseling and fill up the form to get into college
Faculty
Some of the Faculty of the Jalpaiguri government engineering college are good and some are of moderate standard they teach students well give them full view of course and help students who approach them and give idea about real corporate world also
