Remarks

Very good academic. Oldest medical college in Asia. Lots of patients are here thus we get lots of exposure. Senior are always there to teach you. We have RIO regional centre for ophthalmology in West Bengal

U have to study huge syllabus. There are 4 professional MBBS exam and 9 semesters and numerous parts and items. 1st prof 600marks , 2nd 550 3rd prof part 1 400 3rd prof part 2 900. There is GM and CA exam

Yes college have mandatory 1yr internship at different departments like medicine surgery obs gynae paediatrics orthopedics eye ent blood bank anaesthesia ctvs community medicine psychiatry chest medicine

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible as it is a government college. Per semester we had to pay 4500 and before each prof we had to pay 600 for each subject for registration and before internship we had to pay 1000.during internship we are paid

Yes student can apply for scholarship. Like swami vikekananda, iocl etc. College provides benifits for sc at students. Benivolent scholarship provides by ex student association. Student can also apply private scholarship also

All types of sports like cricket football, volleyball, chess , pc games. Cultural activities singing dance. Wards posting in medicine surgery pedi Ortho psychiatry deema community medicine are there

Hostel Facilities

Yes , 4 hostel main boys hostel ,giribabau hostel , Norman bethun , BC roy for boys. 1 for girls swarnamoyi. We had to pay 45 per month for hostel. Rooms are adequate. 24h current water supply

External Expense: Rs.4000 - Rs.7000

Alumni/Alumna

Senior are very helpful in all aspects they provide book guide us give us treat motivates us teach in wards. We all stay together as friends. If someone get I'll Dada are here to help him. They provide notes before exam

Admission

WBJEEM exam. based on rank u get ur college, there will be 3 stage counselling. U have to fill a 1lakh rs bond before admission. counselling will be online basis and then u have to do verification then final admission at alloted college

Faculty

Very good. academic is very rich here. We have 14 subjects for study in each subject. Professor usually takes lectures and PGT takes demonstration class. In anatomy dissection class taken by Assistant sirs

Placement Experience:

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

1. Students generally get eligible for campus placements from the 3rd semester of the M.Sc. course. 2. Deperments like Biotechnology,Botany,Zoology have placement support. 3. Companies coming to campus like TCS,Wipro,Deloitte,Biocon,Pfizer. 4. Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
