Remarks
I will be neutral here. I can never be positive about my past experiences. Although they were fun, I have lots of memories of my college time, as we have bunked the college and spent our lives wandering. But I regret it as I have no good memory and no actual learning. It all felt as a fake 3 years of life. But I will never remark it as a Negative factor as due to those 3 years I have struggled and have known my true strengths. Today I own an organisation and have employees under me. I am thankful that I have not studied in any other college who might have carved me to be slave doing jobs. So on a rate from 1 to 5, 1 being negative and 5 being positive, I will rate my college to be a 3.
Placement Experience
Well, this will be a big No in my experience. I never heard of any college placements or announcements or any notifications during my time. However, nowadays I can see newspapers with articles about the placement drives conducted there. So yes, things are getting a good path but gradually.
College Events
College Fest: Cultaral programs were conducted where students were given chance to perform and showcase their skills. Poetry: Kavi Sammelans were organised and I remember many famous poets coming there to perform. National holiday programs: Republic day, Independence day, Gandhi Jayanti, or any festival like deepwali, holi etc., were always charming. Some or the other activity was always going on. But the biggest event, which the whole town used to know about, was College Elections. It was the most celebrated, hyped and enjoyed time. The mad fact is, people who are not even the part of the college used to join the rallies of college political parties and roam all over the city for their convincing.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The most Feasible. I can say that my graduation fees just costed me INR 5000/- back then. I have no honest remarks about current fee structure. But I can say with a surity, it is feasible. The major reason lies in the fact that this college is a savior for all the mediocres and average studying student as well as the lowest earning families.
Fees and Financial Aid
I never required any such thing. Neither have heard anything about loans, as the fee structure was affordable. I have heard about scholarships but have no knowledge about the criteria or eligibility to be honest.
Campus Life
I was a commerce student with no sports or extracurricular background. As far as I have seen, the college has its own cricket and football team which even plays the state level matches. There used to be 3 physics labs, 2 chemistry labs and a large library, not sure of now.
Alumni/Alumna
The senior students and alumni connected with the college were only for some political connection. It was seen that many NSUI and ABVP leaders of DAV have joined Congress and BJP parties respectivily. Also, major leaders of Uttarakhand have passed through DAV college itself. Rather than that, the seniors were helpul to me for sharing their Satya and notes.
Admission
Things have changed now. During my graduation time, the admission procedure used to be simple. There was a minimal cut off and an yearly system for bachlor programs. A normal application form was supposed to be submitted before a said timeline. All the applicants were granted admission. Now it is a semester system and the cut offs are higher as compared to the past. An application form has to be submitted with required documents. As per those a merit list is announced with eligible candidates.
