The Institute has a very positive influence on the lives of it's students. It develops the overall personality and character of an individual. The college provides the platform and facilities to it's students which can be used to grow and achieve their goals.

The course curriculum here at IIT Kharagpur is very flexible and extensive. Students can explore their interests and opt for courses of other branches as well. They can do a minor or opt for a micro of other branches subjects. The curriculum is according to the latest industry. The exams here are conducted mid semester and end semester. Those are subjective exams which evaluates the students knowledge of the subject. Apart from this some quizzes also play part in evaluation of the student. Lab exam are also taken.

The Institute has career development cell (CDC) dedicated for the training and placements of it's students in various companies and organisations across the country and overseas. The CDC works really hard so that each and every student gets an opportunity of internship and get placed in a company with a good job package. The placements and job opportunities are very good at IIT Kharagpur with high average packages in all the branches.

The college organises various fears. The social and cultural fest SPRING FEST. The techno-management fest KSHITIJ. These are one of the college fests which have highest attendance of students from all over the country. Apart from these, various department fests are also organized. Our college has various traditions like ILLUMINATION celebrated at Diwali. Hall days are also celebrated in the month of March.

The fee structure is a bit expensive. Approximately 3 lakhs per annum is required. However, various concessions and schemes make the study affordable. Scholarships are also provided for economically weaker section and research interested students.

The Institute provides various loan schemes with very low interest rates for students of economically weaker section and also provide concession in the tution fee. The college also provides scholarships for Msc courses students to promote research. (For eg inspire scholarship).

The Institute has well - equiped labs. The Institute spends a lot of effort to promote sports among the students. Various sport competitions are organised from time to time. So that the students not get bored of studies, various recreational activities are also organized like cycle trip. DJ night and adventure weekends. The Institute has various clubs and society where students learn and grow. Interact with each other.

Hostel infrastructure and facilities are quite good. 24 hour electricity and water facilities. The rooms are well ventilated. LAN ports are provided to each student in the room. The Institute is also has a good WI-FI network providing high - speed internet. The mess food is very healthy. Each hostel has a gym , a music room, a common room as well. The hostel also has canteens. Playgrounds.

The institute being a very old institution has very large and established alumni network. The alumni promote and help students and institute by all means. The senior students are very helpful. Seniors provide guidance regarding academic and day to day life problems. Overall there is a very good alumni institute relation and senior junior culture.

I got admission in the college by securing a decent rank in JEE(ADVANCED). The college takes admission through joint entrance exam (JEE ADVANCED). Then the qualified candidates fill their choices in the joint seat allocation portal (JOSAA). The seats in the institute are allocated on the basis of the ranks obtained by the candidates and on the basis of their choices filled. The better the rank is , the better the chances of getting your desired branch in your desired college. Once the candidate locks his/her choice in the portal. The college provides admission to them when they report at the institute.

The faculty is highly qualified. Those are the very knowledgeful persons of their respective subjects. They clear the doubts of students very efficiently when students approach them. The professors are very friendly toh the students.
