Course Curriculum Overview
The course is very much up to date with the pune university syllabus and since the college has now turned into an autonomous institute many new opportunities and new subjects are being introduced to students of all years and courses.
Internships Opportunities
I am a first year student here and obviously im not really aware of the internship status here but from what i have heard you have to make many projects by the beginning of 2nd year. This college very much believes in practical learning as much as theoretical learning.
Placement Experience
I am not fully aware of the placement statistics but from the starting of the 7th semester students can start applying to various companies for jobs and internships. Major tech companies are known to visit Modern college of engineering auch as tech Mahindra and cognizant. Almost 80 to 85 percent of students applying for placement get placed with an average package of 6 lakh rupees. The highest package this year was 20 lakh rupees per annum offered to a student in computer science department by tech Mahindra. I personally plan on becoming a start up entrepreneur but lets see what the future awaits!
Fees and Financial Aid
Total overall fees for this course is 90,000 rupees out of which 78,261 rupees is tuition fees and 11,739 is the development fees which adds up to 90,000 in total. For other categories such as obc,ebc,ews and sebc (males) the fees goes down till 50,000 and for women of the same category the fees can go down toll 11,739 which is only the development fees, the college waivers off the tuition fees for tthose candidates .
Campus Life
The annual cultural fest "spandan" is a great opportunity for students to interact and get socially involved with other students. Students perform dancd or drama and some can also host programs which increases their stage daring. The campus life is amazing if you make the right friends who have the same priorities and goals as you. The college has a good football snd basketball field where you can indulge in sports activities. The college also hosts various sports tournaments and activities for all students.
Admission
I applied for various colleges all across pune and was more bent towards colleges near my residence and modern college of engineering checks all these boxes and im glad i chose this college. I applied for their spot round vacancy round and managed to get admission onto the electronics and computer engineering department.
Faculty
The faculty to students ratio is very good and the teachers a re very supportive. They reply to my texts at late nights as well (atleast some of them). I also like the physics professor he has a very good hold on the subject and i feel he makes the subject very interesting for students to understand. Students have exams every month as they conduct exams after every 2 units so that the students can learn better.
Night Life
The college is located in the heart of pune city and many options are available for students to enjoy night life. Me and my friends usually head off to FC road as soon as the lectures are over to hangout at our regular spots. The area is very happening and fun and students love the college for this reason which is its location
