NIT SRINAGAR: THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CAMPUS

I belong Electrical engineering branch of btech which has good facilities and placement records after CSE and IT branches.Due to its best career options and upcoming placement companies in campus I chose this course which is not good for braches like chemical, civil and metallurgical branches. Main course will start from 2nd year as I talked with senior of my course, Main faculties are best and supportive which is not so in other branches. They provide their best efforts and due to which 80 to 85% of my course get placement every year. First Semester has many subjects like engineering Drawing, Elements of Mechanical engineering, etc. which are relevant for my course in further main course and other branches like CSE, IT chemical engineering etc. And Computer programming like subjects are irrelevant for civil, chemical , electrical etc like braches. So this first year subject should be improved if possible should remove. Exams are moderate level and questions are asked from topic which are taught in classes and also real life problems related questions are also asked in exams. But it should be improved that they should not ask exactly same question from class notes and previous year papers which promotes rote learning for passing the exams. Their are not much timing between two papers for preparation well which should be improve.

NIT SriNagar has Good placement records. Officially It's placement records of 2024 is not released but it's going on till now. Uper branches like CSE, IT, ECE, EE ,ME got placements more than 80 to 85%. As I heard 44 lpa was highest placement offered with 9 t0 10 lpa average package. Companies like HPCL, BEL, OIL, BPCL, EIL,GAIL, IOCL, CRC, and Big companies like Google, Samsung, cheg, IBM, Amazon etc. Previous statistics show that there was strength of 668 students .where In 2023, total 724 offers are counted and median salary was 10,48,000. Brachwise placement percentage was as: CSE : 121.12%, IT: 140.57%, ECE: 107.60%, EE: 114.7%, CHE:104.29% CIVIL: 65.59% MME: 100% ME: 141.38%. In 2023 , highest package was 36.5 lpa of CSE Student. Highest, Average and median packages (lpa) respectively of respected braches are as: CSE: 36.5, 13.8, 12; IT: 21, 11.6,12; ECE: 23,10.7, 7.5; EE: 21,9.42, 8.25; CIVIL:19,8.6,6; ME:22, 9.2, 7.3; CHE: 13.95, 8.46, 7 37; MME: 13.9, 8.6, 6.75 lpa. That was pretty good.

Students who belong to general category and Doesn't not belong to any reservation and annual income above 5 lakh, pay full tuition fee of 73,000 including all examination, health care and other security fees at time of semester registration. And 12,000 rs at time of admission which is refundable after graduation. And Students which belongs to category SC/ST and OBC having annual income less than 1 lkah annually Doesn't not pay any tution fee but only mess fee of 21000 which paaid by all students other than Tution fee. Students belonging to OBC and General EWS category having annual income between 1 lac to 5 lac pay tuition fee two third means 31,333 rs. And pay 21000 mess fee which paid by all students. All hosteller students pay 8000 as Hostel rent at time of semester registration.

There are Many Cultural and technical fest in NIT Srinagar. Techvaganza is most loved and famous technical fest of my College which is Largest technical fest of Jammu and Kashmir Even larger than fest of IIT JAMMU. It's two days showcase of talent and creativity of students of entire Kashmir Valley. In 2024, It was held on October 10-11 with Theme" Greener Innovation: Engineering a sustainable world!". Additional to this fest, An annual Cultural fest named "RANG-E-CHINAR" which is a vibrant event celebrates the Rich cultural heritage of Kashmir and showcase talent of students through music and dances and theatre performances. It's takes place in Spring semester and many Cultural musical presentation are included. There are Many clubs IEEE, IICHE, TORUS, ASHRAE, ROBONOX, SYNDICATE Etc. which encourages many students toward technology and creativity. There well wifi connected classrooms also NIT SRINAGAR has collaboration with IIT DELHI and IIT HYDERABAD in which In final year, NIT Srinagar with high grades in previous year allows to spend one year at IIT DELHI or IIT HYDERABAD. Sports facilities are much better than other colleges. There 3 to4 playground for bedminton, 2 ground of lawn tennis, a major cricket ground, a football ground and 3 table tenis ground and a 400 me athelete track tec. Our NIT has second succesful cricket team which won runner up trophy recently December 2024 with Best Batsman. Library of my College is average which has many technical and computer science related books and journals. Its 5G connected library space for students to study in peaceful place.

There are hostel and mess inside the college campus which has 5 students in a room facilities for 1st and 2nd year students with wife connection. But now it's Wi-Fi connection needs to improve. Students who perform best in 1st year got single rooms in upcoming year based on their previous year academic performances. There are attached mess with the hostels. There are major 5 hostel for boys which are allocated to every batches of 4 year course and 1 PG hostles for Post graduate students. Food quality is Average to good. On special occasions there is Better food quality. We can take food in our required quantities. There is morning breakfast with tea and then lunch and dinner. There is snacks and tea provision in evening at 5 to 6 o'clock. In Dinner, Chicken and egg curries are provided for non- vegaterian on alternate days and for vegetarian, vegetables like Paneer, Aaloo, etc are provided with daily daal , rice and Chapaties. 21000 rs is mess fee every semester and 8000 for hostel facilities every semester. Rooms are warms than outside and there is double bed facility in 5 students room where charges and fan facility are provided. Security Guards are hired at gates of hostels. No time limit for night light off in hotels. Registration and fee payment of hostel and mess are done online at starting of semester. Overall mess menu and food quality is average like other hostel foods.

I got admission in National institute of technology SriNagar during my Central Board of Seat Allocation(CSAB) councelling which is after Joint seat allocation authority (JOSAA) councelling. in 6 rounds of JOSAA, I got NIT Agartala and production engineering branch which is much lower brach and in far eastern NIT from my home Rajasthan So I participated in CSAB Councelling where I got My dream NIT and respected brach electrical engineering. It's meet my all expectations but some expectations went wrong like this is not safe for outsider which is mostly wrong we are safe in campus and Srinagar is safest place in Kashmir. I dis not applied for any other counsellings and college other than NITs. Which I got NIT SriNagar based on my JEE MAINS Rank. In My college, Admission is through Qualification of JEE Mains and for My branch Electrical engineering General category students required 40k AIR and My category OBC-NCL required 70k AIR. When All students got the college Their admissions started within next 5 to 7 days and Branch wise they are invited to college for admission. It's Not much complicated and same as of all ohter NITs colleges in India. As I said previously that Faculty of NIT SRINAGAR is very helpful and supportive. Most of faculties are muslims and many of Hindus from other states of India. Numbers of Faculties vary in time but It's has a good ratio with students which are 6000+ in numbers. I belongs to Electrical engineering branch and Each branch has same subjects in 1st year. My first Semester faculty was nice and Well qualified such as Physics Sir Dr. MZ Ansari got PhD fro IIT Delhi. Environmental studies teacher Dr. Ravi Kumar got PhD. from IIT Roorkee in Chemistry. Engineering Mechanics staff Dr. Insha wani got PhD from IIT Jammu. And all others are also from Best Institutes. Maths Faculties was not permanent but temporary faculties was hired which was also well educated. I liked most the teacher Dr. M.Z.Ansari of physics and Elements of engineering Mechanics (EME) teacher Dr. Sandeep Rathee sir. They are very helpful and has good teaching style. They also solved doubts personally and test our concept through test or explaining of concepts on board by students. I disliked madam Dr. Insha Wani of engineering Mechanics and Maths teacher Dr. Imtiyaz Ali (temporary facility) which is disliked by 90 to 95% of students of Our batch. Dr. Insha Wani of mechanics subject, I disliked most due to their worst teaching style and Corporate with students and doubt solving skills. Their are 2 semester in one year and each semester has 2 exams mid term and end term. Mid term of 26 marks each subject. And end term of 50 marks of each subject and 24 of internal marking by teachers based on attendance and class quizes, assignments and behaviour of students in class. Their are 2 to 3 labs during each semester, Which also has grades in end results. Many of students fails in 1st year in subjects like mechanics, Maths and engineering drawing. Course in first year has same subjects in all braches which I feels irrevelent.

Nightlife of NIT SRINAGAR is very peaceful and beautiful. Usually 1st year students hostles locked after 11 pm due but students can go to library till 12 O' clock after which Library closed. Other students than 1st year wander around campus in night anytime. There is a Good security all over the campus. Dal Lake view from campus is such beautiful view and when there is moon and star twinkle in sky, it makes more beautiful like heaven. In winter, snowfall makes its more beautiful and cold. In Full Moon nights , snow makes it most beautiful. Gymnasium Boys is attached with Auditorium which usually opens from 5:00 pm to 9 pm in night and in early morning. Selection in Gym are done by sports coach and gym head by Their test criterias. There are mainly two cafeteria and canteen areas which opens till 11:00 pm in Summer night and 10 to 10:30 pm in winter nights and Boys and girls both are allowed in that reasons.
