REVIEW OF INDIA 'S MOST BEAUTIFUL CAMPUS (NIT SRINAGAR)

Honestly speaking, I chose this course as I was getting this course only according to my JEE MAINS rank. The course prepares us well but we have to do internships for industrial exposure. There are two exams conducted each semester i.e. Mid term and End term .

From 7th Semester, Students become eligible for campus placements. The renowned companies visited for our department were VEDANTA, JSW , RELIANCE, etc. 75% students of our departments get placement each year. The highest package offered for MME department is 13 lpa The average package offered for 8 lpa. I am thinking of doing M.Tech after my degree...

For 1st Semester Registration Fee ( one time at the time of admission) - 6500 Caution Money (Refundable) - 12000 Tuition fee - 20833 Institution fee - 10000 Hostel fee - 8000 One time Mess Registration fee - 1000 Semester Mess Charges - 20000 Total amount for 1st Semester - 78333 Total amount for 2nd to 8th Semester - 59333 Total Amount for the entire course - 494164 For students having annual income less than 1 lakh, Tuition fees is 0 and Same goes for SC /ST category students. For students having annual income greater than 5 lakhs , the fees for the entire course cost around 9 lakhs. As NIT SRINAGAR is a govt college, the fees is not continuosly increasing. For Scholarships , you have to apply on National Scholarship Portal in the first year itself or you can go for your respective state scholarships.

There are two fests conducted every Year i.e. Rang - e - Chinar and Techvaganza conducted in June and November respectively. The library of NIT SRINAGAR is excellent and a lot of variety of books and journals are available in the library. All the classrooms are equipped with ACs and Smartboards. There are many sports facilities available in the college... Many clubs are run by students like SARGAM club , GYMKHANA, etc.

The Hostel facility is excellent in the campus. 5 students share a room in hostel and you get a bed , a study table , chair and a bed lamp. The Mess food is good enough and variety is there but obviously not comparable to Mom's hand made food. You get Hostel and Mess their at the time of admission itself. The locality is not safe to reside for outsiders .

I didn't apply to any other colleges other than NITs,IIITs and GFTIs. I chose this college as it is a govt. College and NIT , which is itself a brand and it is affordable over others. I got admission in this college through JEE MAINS.

The faculty to student ratio is 1:40 Most of the faculties are friendly with students and like most of the faculties are easily available... Some of the renowned faculties in the MME department are IRFAN SIR , NITIKA KUNDAN , etc. I like them because of their excellent teaching methods... There are two exams conducted in the semester which are mid term and End term.Almost 25% of the students fail the exams as they neglect their studies too much otherwise the exam is moderate... The course curriculum is relevant for those who want to be in their core field...

The favourite hangout spot for us is Dal lake behind our college. Students roam around the campus after a hectic day. There is a Gym , Cafeteria and Library available in the campus. The hostel is open 24*7 for boys but for girls, the in time is 8 pm . The locality is obviously not safe to roam outside at night .
