Likes
- Quality of Faculty members. All of them are well qualified and student friendly.
- They encourage research and innovation. There are lots of clubs aswell. Almost back to back fests are arranged, so continuous entirtainment.
- The labs are well eqipped. All the instruments and resources are available. Lab assistants are super supportive and gives full access.
Dislikes
- Most of the classrooms aren't air conditioned
- Campus area is small. Two playgrounds and small gardens here and there aren't enough to hangout.
- No Gym is there. I have to pay extra for Gym, outside the campus.
Course Curriculum Overview
CSDS is a booming field. Datascience, Machine Learning are the fututre of tech. I wanted to learn new skills, I had interest in coding. This was the best college available in my rank. The syllabus and curiculum are aligned to present needs and future trends. Web Development should be incorporated.
Placement Experience
From 6th sem student becomes eligible for placements. Companies like IBM, Cognizent, EY, PWC, TCS, Wipro, and other start ups come. Last year 81lakhs was the highest package from our dep. Avg is something btw'n 8 to 10 lpa, for our dep only. 60-70% students get and pick on campus placemnts. 2-5% goes for higher studies. High end packages are mostly off campus placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
the course fee is 650000 rupees. per semester it's abt 50000-60000. 1st sem fees is the highest abt 85000. students through management had to pay 2-3 lakh rupees extra. students from sc st back ground were give tution fees waiver. Student credit card(WB Gov. student Loan) is available. Vivekanada Scholarship is available.
Campus Life
There are 7 clubs. Geekonix the tech club organizes the best annual tech fest among pvt colleges in the east. Ankuroon the cultural club organizes biggest cul. fest in east India. fests are happening every now and then. Library has huge book collection, but students dont have direct access. They have to lend through the Librarian, who decides which book is available.
Admission
I ordered the TMSL just below the govt. colleges CSE and IT branches. Our college is one of the best among pvt eng colleges. I completed my 10 th board from TIGPS, pvt schools of Techno. So I am aware abt the culture and decorem. The admission process is very simple. Must give either JEE Mains or WBJEE or both. If you are getting admission through counselling good, other wise opt for direct admission(management quota).
Faculty
the faculty to student ratio is 1:7. The faculty members are really well qualified and empathetic, hence super approachable. The labs are always accesible.Dr. Arpita Mondal, our mathematics faculty, coordinator. She is the best professor from Basic Science dep. There is one man in accounts dep., bald headed, one must stay away from him. 6months=1semester. 1sem=4CAs+2PCAs+1sem exam. Since our college is under MAKAUT university. Our semester exams are conducted under strong and secure invigilation. But other internal exams are are easy to take.
Interview Experience
There was no such GD or interview. I got admission through Counselling on the basis of WBJEE rank. So I really didn't have to prepare for any kind of interview. In order to take admission in our college one has to bring a WBJEE rank above 20000. Aspirants with lower rank may apply for management quota.
Night Life
0 gym. 4 cafes. 1 library. no hostel. very less campus area so no such significant places to hangout. But our college is located in the heart of sector V, just beside nicco park. 20 mins from Eco park. and many cafes and resturants nearby. and the lake view is awesome.
