IIIT SRI CITy IN THE POV OF A FIRST YEAR STUDENT

The reason I chose this course is beecause AI and DS is the future and the teaching here is also decent. The curriculum is not enough for you to excel in the field you need to learn and build your skills for high paying jobs. The course should be more integrated to modern day engineering than old school typical engineering subjects. The exams are quite tough but if you study you can score good marks.

The internship starts from 7th semester and you can try for internships off campus. However you get placed if you have a good cgpa . If you provide the internsip letterr you might not have to go to the classes in 7th semester according to what I heard from my seniors

The students are eligible for caampus placements from the 7th semester. Various companies likee Microsoft, Amazon, Samsung, Zebronics and other leading companies come for placements and aalmost all of them get placed in companies. The average placements last year was 14.2 lakhs and the highest off campus salary was 1.2 cr.

I am from general category so i had to pay: Tuition fee : 165000/- per semester Hostel fee(4 moths) : 22000/- per semester Mess fee(4 months) : 20000/- per semester Admission fee : 17000/- (non refundable) Caution deposit : 20000/- (refundable) Alumni fee : 2000/- (non refundable) Medical insurance upto 50k : 2600/- per year Students from categories like OBC-NCL, SC/ST, GEN-EWS can apply to various scholarships like the NSP but at the start of the course everyonee have to pay this fees. Later the fees will be changed according to their categories and scholarships. the college also provides a certain amount of money to the students who score well in academics.

There are mainly 2 fests in a year one is in february and the other in november or december. ostly all the books of subjects taught to us are available in the library. The classrooms have AC and have wifi and projector facilities. All the sports facilities are offered in the campus. There are many student clubs you can join the ones of your interests.

The rooms have a wardrobe, a fan and lights and charging points. The mess food is not so good but it is decent. The rooms are alloted when you apply for the seat. The fees is quite reasonable. The hostel is inside the campus itself.

I wanted to have a new experience that is the onlu reason i chose this college there is no otherspecific reeason in me joining this college. I had applied to PES university i9n Bangalore through the JEE Mains quota and I was offered a seat too but i came here. However there is no difference in the fees structure and all. You can get into this college if you meet the JEE category cutoff and apply through Josaa and CSAB counselling.

The number of faculties are enough with respect to the number of students. Most of the professors aree IIT graduates and have a good experience in their respective fields. Some of them have also recieved awards and published their own books. Coming to the exams we have two exams Mid sem and End sem. The mid sem is for 20 marks and end sem is for 40 marks rest of the marks will be covered in quizzes and assignments. We ll have 6 subjects 4 are institute core and 2 are self development courses.

There is one gym which is not so modernised, a library in the campus. There is a refreshment point outside the campus. We are allowedd to roam inside the campus anytime but are not allowed to go out of the campus. There is no night life or any famous spots to roam. But you could go to Chennai whuch is 67km away
