Likes

Teachers are good with high knowledge in their subjects
Good class rooms, clean washrooms, workshops conducting by each departments
Arts,cultural fest of our college (CULT),

Dislikes

We have no other activities like part-time job to earn money
They are rushing each and every semester with a long syllabus
There no proper ground for our college to play sports like football, cricket...and biotechnology department has labs actually it needed more equipments for students hand on experience

Fees and Financial Aid

At admission, I paid 19,000 as I got admission through KEAM under the SC category, which has lower fees compared to other students. In the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years, the fees will vary as 8,000, 30,000, and 40,000 respectively. One of my friends, in the OBC category, is paying up to 86,000.

Campus Life

Actually there are many activities like workshops, conferences in each and every department and arts, costume party, election, sports like football, cricket, kho-kho, volleyball etc.. And there are so many different clubs, NSS, cultural fest of our college CULT A AWAY. Dance band, music band...

Hostel Facilities

There are pg and hotels available near college. Quality and taste of the is average. I am staying at a pg hostel and that is near by college, place called kaimanam. There will be shelfs for keeping dresses, washroom, tables and chairs for study. And we can dry our clothes in the terrace

Hostel Fee: INR 5000 per year

Admission

I applied to this college because there is no government college with the B.Tech biotechnology and biochemical engineering course in Kerala. And our college is aided college. So we can pay less fees than private colleges. I got rejected from other colleges because i don't have high rank in KEAM I got admission here through the KEAM exam

Faculty

Our department has faculty members for each subject, and they are friendly with us. However, there are some faculty members I personally don't like. In each semester, we have six subjects and one or two lab sessions. In the final year, there are only four subjects, and the remaining hours are allocated for seminars and project work.

Night Life

Nightlife around our college is quite safe. Our college has library but it will close at 4:30 pm. And college gate will close at 6:30 pm And there are gym and cafeterias near our college. There no hostel for college. There are many private hostels approved by our college, near college. Places to hangout are quite faraway from our college

OUR COLLEGE LIFE

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placements from the third semester onwards. Toward the end of the third semester, companies start to approach you based on your cgpa and SGPA. If you have good marks stipend is provided.

If you want to be in a controlled environment, focus on academics, make use of some good placement opportunities, and get somewhere career-wise I would be suggesting Amrita University.

I choose this college because it has vibrant campus life and freedom.It also has good placement records,good pass percentage. I also took due to distance advantage.This college also has good faculty, teaching. Although the campus is small, the infrastructure is well maintained. It has well structured labs.I also looked for cet, Trivandrum but I didn't get it because of my keam rank. The exam accepted for the course is keam and most of the students prefer it. Students can also join this college by nri quota without any entrance exam by giving more fees.I got admission in ece in sctce in the keam 1st allotment itself....Read More

A look inside Sct - Campus life, Academics and more

The main reason I chose this college was because this as under the Government of Kerala. It is held jointly by both government and ksrtc. This the standard of teachers will be better than other private colleges and campus life would be better as well. I have gotten confirmed admission from Amritha University and FISAT. I chose Sct because of the above given reason and also because of its location in trivandrum. I had applied to both Cet and Gect but I didn't pass the cutoff. The admission price for SCTCE is through KEAM which is held by the government of Kerala.
