Remarks

On an all over basis, I would not recommend this college to anyone as yes it does have a huge campus but the people here are not that sensible and arrogant for no reason. The academics is fine. There are many other better options to opt for in India than this college if you're looking for an all round development.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum is quite okay but not extremely efficient. It comprises of the relevant theoretical subjects but less knowledge about practical application and there is not much exposure to the outside world.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, the college provides quite a good number of internships. The average package is around 3 lakhs per annum. There are many mass recruiters visiting the campus like Accenture etc. And companies like Microsoft visit once in a blue moon.

Placement Experience

4

Placements and job opportunities are good to okay-ish. Mostly everyone belonging to the computer science or ETC streams get placed somewhere. Companies like Accenture, wipro, delloite etc. Are the major recruiters. The highest packages goes up to 10-12 lakh to limited seats depending on the student.

College Events

4

KIIT Fest is the annual cultural event held usually in the month of December. It continues for around 2-3 days and comprises many on stage (like fashion show, dance, dramas, music bands etc.) and off stage events (like robotics etc.). Apart from this there are many other academic events held in the year like the MUN, events based on entrepreneurship etc

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is a bit more than average but not extremely expensive. The tuition fees is 1.5 lakhs per semester (that is 12 lakhs for 4 years in total) and the hostel fees varies depending on the kind of hostel chosen (ac/non AC, connected washroom etc.) Varying from 80,000 to 1.6 lakh per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes scholarships are provides for the top rankers in the entrance. The first rank is allowed a 50% of tuition fees and the number of students having their ranks in the top 800 are provided with Rs. 10000 every semester provided they maintain the CGPA above 9 every time.

Campus Life

4

There are a lot of extracurricular activity student societies and clubs in the campus but not all are good. Sports are okay-ish. The labs are not updated and there are many instruments not in the right condition and the lab teachers are arrogant and most of them keep screaming in broken English for no reason which does not support a healthy environment for learning.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

The hostel infrastructure in reality is nowhere near the amount of money taken for it. All the hostel campuses have a sports complex (different facilities at different places) and a garden in one of them and canteen in some but when it comes to the rooms, they're small and nowhere near the money taken. Plus the entry timings are 7:00 pm for girls hostel. The mess is not that clean and the mess workers and wardens are arrogant for no reason.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes the senior students are quite helpful on talking and open to talk. They are there to explain things to the new comers according to their abilities but not much accepting much to learn from juniors in certain things if they're better.

Exam Structure

The exam structure comprises of 50 marks internals and 50 marks external. The internal 50 marks comprises of a 20 marks mid-semester examination, The rest 30 marks depends on assignments, class quiz tests, activities etc. depending on the subject. The external is a 50 marks end semester examination.

Admission

The admission process comprises of an entrance based on which the merit list is declared and then the counseling is done rankwise in the campus itself in bhubaneshwar, for the selection of sub streams.

Faculty

3

Not much of the faculty is good. Most of them are natives of odisha and have problems in talking English properly. They speak some odia words at times in classroom as well while talking to someone which makes communication difficult. Not all teachers are good and many are not sensible when it comes to a student's matters.

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
